Sounds like both of you need to take a look at Logitech's new PS3 Harmony remote adapter. It turns on and off the console and has support for just about every PS3 function. It's also ass expensive for an adapter.
I saw that a while back but didn't know it was currently available. That is expensive for an adapter. too much just for one measly power command.
Ya, I tried tv versity for a bit. I normally use Nero Media Home for streaming etc. Works fine when I stream movies to other computers like my laptop from my desktop. But the PS3 always screws up. So frustrating. Sucks if it's my router, I just bought it this past fall, so I'm in no rush to replace it.
i have seen other blutooth to infrared adapters but I am not going to pay 50-60 bucks just for that, i mean i have a ps3 remote i guess i'll have to use that whenever i want to watch a blu-ray while it would be nice to not have to skip around with that other remote i cant justify spending that much money on something like that right now. two remotes for watching blu-rays is a lot better than the mess I used to have before, and just one for everything else i can live with
My wife had only one rule prior to me building a new HT: Everything has to be able to be controlled by ONE remote. Thus, I'm buying the Harmony adapter to meet that requirement.
The irony is that statement should also help your decision. As far as the games argument, the 360 had many more better games...........in 2007. The PS3 has a great catalog and a stronger line up for the near future. Unless there's a specific franchise you're looking for, the games probably won't be the deiciding factor. When I got mine I was trying to decide between the both systems and at the time, 360 had a much better selection. I figured in the long run I'd be happier with Sony mostly due to God of War III and a few other key franchises. Plus at the time FF was only on PlayStation. Sucks saying goodbye to Halo, but I'm glad I chose the beast.
I got the PS3 last year instead of an xbox, because my roomates each had a 360. And EACH of them sounded like a jumbo jet taking off when they were on. So freakin loud. My PS3 is damn near silent compared to their 360's. Love my PS3, I don't buy a lot of games, just the sports games and GTA....so it's perfect for me. And more sexy too...Blue Ray ftw.
PS3 does have better games than the 360. Microsoft is just doing Halo spinoffs now...they need new franchises ASAP.
