I would like to know that too. Because of peer pressure I bought 12 month gold membership and realized I don't really play at all. Usually after service Microsoft gives you a month of Xbox live free.
OK, why the heck did I send my Xbox to Texas only to have them send it to Mexico only to have them send it back to Texas and then have them send it back to Mexico where it currently is?
Shouldn't be going to Mexico.... that's for sure. The repair center is in McAllen, TX which is near the border (I think), but I don't know why they would be crossing the border and going through customs...something's not right.
Watch out, if you do get it back, there's going to be a pound of reefer in there instead of an xbox live card
I believe you have to actually call the Microsoft support line to cancel your account which I think is rather ridiculous. There's more ridiculous steps to go through to get the credit card off the account as well.
