<br> Just call tech support. I think RROD is inevitable no matter what condition your 360 is in. But yeah, in most cases when freezing starts, RROD follows soon after. They should be able to help you out before you get the RROD as long as the system is under warranty.
Just tried to turn it on after being gone all day and without a fame in the system it won't even come up on the dashboard. Blank white screen or white screen with green and yellow lines.
When you call support, tell them you have the rrod even if you don't. I read that they don't really check, this way you can get it replaced before it rrods.
This just happened to mine a couple of weeks ago and eventuall RROD... one of my friends said microsoft still fixes it for free... he said it happened to his a month ago and he called them up and they sent him a shipping label and all and fixed it for free... he said his 360 warranty had expired and he's had it for about 3 years.. anyone know if this is true??? does microsoft still fix it for free?? cause i want to send mine in.. if not i guess kinect it is!!!
once your 3 year warranty is off you can renew it for a price. I forgot how much but its not that expensive
Pun- Is it the newer style Xbox? If so, I was having that same issue..so while troubleshooting, I removed the hard drive and put it back in. Fixed the problem.
Yea this happened to me a couple of years ago and ended about a week later with the RROD. Hopefully that's not it. Maybe try installing the game on the hard drive? I think it improves multiplayer performance too, but that could just be placebo.
Sounds like RROD to me. Exact same sequence happened to me before it finally did the RROD. First, it started freezing up. Then, when I tried to boot it, then it gave me some funky display with lines on start-up and froze. Then, came the RROD. Good thing is I haven't had a problem since the repair (knock on wood).
I got the red ring and i bought it in feb of 09. hopefully the latest xbox has addressed those issues. i still love my xbox. sometimes. the wifi sucks on it tho
Well, I have seen some people say they have not received their games back when sending it in for repairs and others who have said they did. I'm going to call customer support and hopefully I'll get it back. If not, there is always Christmas.
Posted a message on the Xbox forums and everybody there said the game would be returned to me. Does anybody know how to cancel your Xbox Live membership? I don't think I should be charged while I cannot use the service but Microsoft disagrees and continues to bill my account.
That's a good idea. I went through 3 rrod 360's before I said ***** it and got a PS3. Smooth sailing ever since.
