    Ok well, it's like this.

First of all, not gonna vote in the poll, because it needed a C) Both entry.

I have two of each of these systems, and frankly, they both get played about an equal amount, if you average it out over time.

Lately, the PS3 has been taking up a bit more time than the 360 simply because my son and I have been playing Demon's Souls so much. (DANG is that just the most addictive thing ever? The only analogy I have for it is like it is a console version of WoW, at least in what it actually turns into once you have learned how to play it and what the game is actually all about).

However, a couple months ago, it was the 360 running non-stop with Mass Effect, etc. Then before that it was Uncharted2 on PS3.

    And on and on.

As someone else said, you better nor try to take either one of them away from me, because I will kick you in your naughty bits.

And if you love games, then you need both systems, it's as simple as that.

Nero, there's no place for logic, reason and rational, non-fanboy thinking in this thread.

Nero - Good points. For the most part this is the stance I take. I had a hard time deciding between the two when I was getting my console. I like games, but not so much that I'm going to shell out that kind of money for two similar systems just to play one game.

XSatyr - I also think the numbers are because there are so many 360 owners out there. The extra year has worked out huge for microsoft.

Both are good systems but if I could use my 360 remote for a ps3 I'd get a ps3 I just hate ps remotes always have.

for some games the PS3 remote is far superior than the 360. you can see this in gaming reviews too. . Fighting games for example. But yeah its personal pref.

Does the PS3 Blueray player negate the need for another BlueRay/dvd player?

Which would be better for a 8 YO. (He wants to buy the PS3 because it's what his friend has). (there'll be no online gaming (for a while) mom won't let in shooter games, and dad's not into gaming)...

Yeah, having a PS3 negates having another Blu-Ray player.

If you're leaning that way, you'll be fine with your son. There are a lot of good games for kids i.e. LittleBigPlanet and the upcoming ModNation Racers. Plus there are a bunch on the PlayStation Store.

The numbers do not match though. The ps3 came out a year later, the numbers are double. I think it has to do with the fact many ps3 owners are not gamers, they just wanted a blu-ray player.

Also 360 gamers love multiplayer which has replay value, more incentive to buy the game. Ps3 has a lot of great sp games, I usually rent. I have every intention of buying ModNation Racers and Last Guardian though.

...in Japan, not the United States. The latest news is still that there are no plans to bring it to the United States. Hence, it is still a 360 exclusive... and the game is edging up on two years old. It didn't take that long to port Eternal Sonata or Bioshock, so I wouldn't get my hopes up that Vesperia still will be.

Just read the wikipedia entry in greater detail, and you're right. Interesting that the PS3 version sold more on its release day than the 360 version did in its first 2 weeks, and the 360 version was out a year earlier. Couldn't find North American numbers but I can't imagine it had sold well here or else the PS3 port would have been released here. More proof that the money MS is throwing at jRPGs is not working.

Indeed... shame for MS that Blue Dragon flopped.

I sure believe Namco is being short-sighted by not releasing it here. Everyone I know who's played it say they would buy it again for PS3 given the extra content, and I agree with them 100%. Even if that weren't the case, I can't envision that simply doing a localization for a pre-existing title would be a money-loser for them.

What sucks about it so badly, to me, is the huge dearth of great JRPGs of in last decade (since the PS1 era). I mean, what've we got? FFX, Vesperia, and probably Persona 3 & 4. Sure, there have been some other "pretty good" ones, but no others that immediately leap to mind for me.

Anybody with a 360 even remotely interested in JRPGs should definitely pick Vesperia up. For those who complain that they hate turned-based combat... it isn't turn-based, it's button-mashing goodness! So don't let that stop you!

Lost Odyssey is the best jrpg this gen, as far as old fashion jrpg style goes. Demon Souls took a different but it paid off.

Are you serious? Halo 3 is still the 2nd most played online game in the world (only behind Modern Warfare 2). Why are you so obsessed with God of War III? Personally, I hate that kind of fantasy crap, I have a PS3 and will not buy a game like that. I would much rather have Gears of War and Left 4 Dead

Halo 3 was boring. I liked the first ones too. Almost bought a 360 cause of two.

As for God of War, have you played it? That series got me back into gaming. Everything about it is awesome. Most people would agree with that. I also don't care for Gears. Its not bad, just nothing I'd buy a system over. Left 4 Dead looks like fun, but again not enough for me to buy 360.

So we're clear, its not just GOWII. Thats the game that swayed the decision, but I really like the Ratchet games, Uncharted and Resistance. The next installment of Warhawk should be just as fun as the first and the Shadow of the Collossus guys' next project will keep me around. Not to mention I am eagerly awaiting the next Twisted Metal.

The only other game I care about being on the PS3 is the sequel of Beyond Good & Evil (if it ever happens).

I understand that the 360 has some good games and at least one advantage. I just find more reasons to have a PS3.

Also Halo is riding its name. It will always be popular. There really aren't a whole lot of games that can compare to that popularity of the series and the others that do aren't multiplayer games. My point is there's not a lot of multi competition out there.

It really depends on if you like FPS with online play vs. rpgs and fantasy games. I for one do not like the fantasy genre, I like to shoot things and play online with friends. I also think you are severely underrating Left 4 Dead, when played properly, it the the best online experience in gaming, it is the only concept I have come across that requires true teamwork. I rarely buy exclusives for wither system, the 2 games I play the most right now are MW2 and Fifa. In don't even like Halo, but there is no denying that it is one if not the most popular gaming franchise on the planet.

Lost Odyssey was only decent. I suppose it passes for good these days because the JRPG is mostly dead. I liked Jansen, and I liked the "dream" sequences. Other than those aspects, Tales of Vesperia is much better.

I still fail to understand the fixation everyone has with God of War. To me it's always been an easier, more repetitive Devil May Cry.

I also greatly love Gears of War's campaign... both of them have the best campaign modes of any shooter... notsomuch with the multiplayer, though. And Left 4 Dead is a GREAT co-op experience. Find a friend who has it, it's a good time.

Definitely agree with you on Halo 3, though. The original Halo was awesome, but the problem is they haven't changed the formula much. There are many shooters I prefer over Halo (Bad Company 2, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, GRAW 2, Gears of War, Killzone 2...).

It's fanboy thinking to state that 360's exclusives aren't very diverse?

You're welcome to prove everyone wrong by listing 5 well rated games outside of Halo and Gears.
