Really? Gamerankings says that for games released in the last year, PS3 has 68 games above 80%, to 360's 64 games above 80%. Which seems to agree with my point that 360's big "more games" advantage is due to old launch titles, not current releases at all. And even providing for those, the gap is not all that big.
So why did you buy a PS3? Seems like a waste of money to buy a game console that doesn't have any games that interest you. Maybe Blu-ray was a factor, but you probably could have gotten a dedicated player for cheaper (possibly better too). Just seems strange to me. And unless you only like online FPS games, I find it hard to believe you couldn't find more PS3 games that you would enjoy. In fact, since it seems like you've only played two games, I'd recommend maybe renting a few of best PS3 games (MGS4, LBP, Uncharted, God of War, Demon's Souls, etc.). Maybe you'll surprise yourself. If I avoided God of War because I didn't like other similar games (e.g., Ninja Gaiden), then I would have missed a fantastic experience. At the very least, it was worth trying to get some value out of the money you spent on a PS3. Actually I didn't. I tried, but when I went to look for your achievements, I was prompted to either login with my GT or create new one. And since I didn't have one nor did I feel like creating one, I didn't bother. Maybe I just looked for them the wrong way. But I more or less assumed you played a few more games on your 360. But given that you apparently don't even play your PS3, not sure why it matters whether you have one or not.
The games I have played and liked are R&C, Infamous and Resistance 1. I will most likely like GOW3 and Demon Souls but have not had time play those extensively yet. And Last Guardian is one of my most anticipated games. This gen has a lot of multiplats and the 360 versions are usually superior bc of the ps3 unique architecture. Exclusives for ps3 look better bc the games are designed for them. Clearly the ps3 is going to have the better looking exclusives.
i think in 09 the PS3 took the lead and its clear which system is more valuable.. In teh begining yes I agree 360 had more big title games.. but now its clearly switched around.. some of the best games i have ever played are on the ps3 Demons Souls, God of War 3 is the most amazing thing u willl ever see Uncharted 2 has one of the most addicting multiplayer.. seriously xbox just has ha the halo and gear of war series which is getting old.. I do agree Mass Effect is fun but oh well on top of the games u get a bluray player PS3>>>>> 360 and i own both and the wii
You do realize a huge majority of those "games" exist on both platforms? Do some research for 360 exclusives vs. PS3 exclusives. 360 hasn't had a game in months until Alan Wake finally came out and we all know that will go on the PC eventually too. 360's current top exclusives consist of: two Halo games (shooter), two Gears games (shooter again), two Forza games, and Fable. Oh and I guess Alan Wake too. Great variety isn't it.
I can't stress enough that the only 360 exclusive worth a damn is Mass Effect 2. I wish that game were multi. Also the games multi platform games looking better on 360 seem to be going away too. It looks like developers have figured out how to maximize the PS3 hardware. I just can't get the no games argument as I've been awake for the last two years. Surprisingly, no one has brought up Heavy Rain. That was another great one.
None are dominators. Halo was awesome..................in 2005. Does anyone really care now besides fanboys? COD4 put an end to that. Gears of War is not a bad game, but nothing to sell your system on. Alan Wake? Seriously? Maybe I'm totally wrong, but again the only game I really want as am overall consumer is Mass Effect 2. Outside of that God of War III is miles above anything else. I would bet that The Last Guardian will be in the mix as well.
They are called opinions. The 360 has 44 games that sold more than 2 mil while the ps3 only has 23, consumers have spoken. Obviously sales are not everything but things are not as one sided as you think.
Thats not because the games are better. MW2 is the same on both systems...but xbox has sold 2.5 times more copies because there are more people with an xbox. Has nothing to do with the quality of the game.
The ps3 was released about a year after the 360. That is about 3/4 time as the 360 so no reason why that number should be doubled. Also the ps3 is only behind by 5 million units.
You're forgetting Tales of Vesperia. That's just about the best modern JRPG around. The other 360 exclusives I care about are the Left 4 Dead games and the Gears of War games. And I would care about Mass Effect if I didn't have it on the PC, which is the superior version. Will probably pick up Alan Wake at some point too, though by the looks like it won't be as good as RE5.
Tales of Vesperia got ported to PS3 in September of last year, according to wiki. Almost all the JRPGs this gen have started out on 360 then made the jump to PS3. Microsoft are probably paying huge fees to keep them launch-exclusive to develop more of a RPG rep, but they're losing money on them because no one's buying them. What pimply 13 year-old Halo-playing kid will want to do a 180 and play some "pansy" JRPG?
