I disagree, I love the relatively newer 360 interface, it is much easier than the PS3 for me personally. I still have trouble with the PS3 one, granted I hardly play it so that may be the reason
Depends on how many games he wants to play online and what games they are. I'm not aware the 360 got anything for BC2 or Street Fighter 4 that PS3 didn't...
Not at all, you can get players around $100 now. But the PS3 is a very high quality player and upscaler considering that's not its primary function (unlike the PS2 as a DVD player, which was AWFUL).
Edited for Genesis, I knew I forgot something. I don't know why, I've just never been on the playstation team. I will however concede that playstation 1 and 2 have a tremendous cache of great games. I used to have exclusive-envy when I had 64 and Dreamcast, but as Xbox came along they've changed things and have accumulated quite an exclusive collection of their own.
Modern Warfare 2 got new maps a month before PS3. I think there are a significant number of games that 360 has the first available DLC.
Yep... what we really need to know from the thread starter is what matters to him, or no one can really make a good recommendation... kinda like someone asking for a laptop recommendation without saying what they'll use it for or what their budget is...
Xbox 360 has a horrible interface and there are even ads on there. Only thing 360 has over PS3 is the controller and maybe online but you pay $50 for it so it's a wash. PS3 has superior games, build quality, and it's a better multimedia experience.
I had a 360 and sold it to get a PS3. I use the PS3 a hell of a lot more just for the blu-ray alone. The online community experience is better on the 360, but the fact that the PS3's online experience is free and it is a blu-ray player easily trumps that for me.
Gotta go with the PS3. Its not close for me. I've never had issues playing online and all the games I want to play are on it. The "360 has better games" argument was a strong one............two years ago. The only one I'd want to play thats a 360 exclusive is Mass Effect 2. In the end, there's not a whole lot of difference really. I just prefer the games on the PS3.
Based on games I prefer 360 hands down. I barely touch my ps3, it just sits there. And before someone calls me a fanboy: PSN- Xsatyr GT- Extremesatyr86
I have a 360 just has the games i like to play, halo and gears. Ive been wanting to get a ps3 too tho.
Never thought PS3 would surpass 360 this generation. When ALL the RRoD cases kept popping up but the mainstream still sucked up to Microsoft I was like wow... finally the census seems to have swayed. Pretty crazy actually. I doubt PS3 will ever have more users in the realm of big name multiplatformers (Madden, CoD,) but it definitely clawed its way back.
I have to admit, if someone had told me 2 or 3 years ago that PS3 would now be beating the 360 in the court of public opinion, I probably wouldn't have believed them. They needed both the price drop and a lot of worthwhile exclusives in the past few years to do it.
You either need to sync up your trophies, or play more PS3 games. If you spent money on a PS3, hopefully you played more than 1% of KZ2 and 7% of Resistance 2. (Didn't check your 360 achievements, maybe the same story there).
The 360 has more games a better community and more gaming features. The PS3 plays blue ray, and is more durable. I have both, but if I could have only one, it would be the 360. DD
