i wouldn't worry about the reliability issue. as someone else said, if it breaks you get a new one back within a week plus a free month of live. mine broke about a year after i got it, but it's worth the hassle for halo 3.

HDMI-equipped Xbox 360 "Core system" shows up for pre-order

Posted Aug 24th 2007 2:17PM by Donald Melanson
    Filed under: Gaming
While HDMI-equipped Xbox 360 Premiums are already fast making their way out into the wild, it looks like Best Buy may have now inadvertently added some further confusion to the SKU situation with a listing for an "Xbox 360 Core System w/ HDMI." Such a system would certainly be news to us but, as you can see above, the image for the system in question quite clearly shows a Premium box, which also happens to match the $349.99 price listed (previously confirmed as the price for the HDMI-equipped Premiums). Those willing to take their chances on the mystery system, however, can put in a pre-order now, with it apparently set to ship on September 1st.

I have never had any trouble with overheating or ring of death, the only issue I hae had is some freeze-up/crashes with some EA Sports games.

i have a friend who bought a wired controller even though he had a wireless one. said theres a slight delay with wireless signal, so he can get shots off faster in halo and what not by having a wired controller

wired is always faster than wireless
i haven't notice much lag tho.
it could be her TV, if you are playing on an older DLP TV or an older LCD (slower refresh rate) you can get lag.

I've used both on the 360 and haven't noticed any difference. Any lag from the wireless controller would be minuscule compared to network latency when playing online anyway. Don't have to worry about the batteries dying in the middle of a game though!

I've been using the wireless controller to play hours of Forza 2 and if there were any noticeable lag as you go through turns, you'd know... and be pissed. :)

I bought one of those chargers you plug in while playing to keep my wireless charged. Cost about $15 I think. Now I don't have to worry about batteries for a while... until I have to replace the rechargeable battery anyway. hehe.

Yeah I have one of those too. When it needs to recharge I switch to my other controller which uses these, the best rechargeable batteries I've used:
