Who cares what specs each system has. What matters is how well games are written for that platform, and more importantly, how much FUN the gamer has.

This console war, which is over btw, is dumb. I think Microsoft makes a sh!tty NOS, and they add about 10hrs of work to my week, but I'd get the XBox because I like the games. NFL Fever and NBA Inside Drive are badass games. I don't like racer games, I don't like RPG's, I only like sports game, and the occasional Street Fighter. So the fact that I could save a football game in the MIDDLE of a game, that sold me.

Also, I love my Dreamcast, not since 2600 has gaming been so fun. I think the majority of games today get too caught up in graphics and pushing the envelope and take the fun out of video games.

Ha ha...you guys :D. The crypts versus the bloods didn't have wars like this .

Can't we all just get along? This crap never stops. How does this make either console owner better off? Ha ha....

    Go XBox!

Haha, don't expect the PS3 to come out until around 2005. Consoles these days generally have an approximate five-year span between the time they come out and the time their successor is released. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Microsoft was originally planning to slash the Xbox price to $199 early-to-mid next week...during the middle of the Electronics Entertainment Expo. But this sudden move by Sony (and a smart one in terms of timing) seems to have caught MS off-guard, stealing their thunder. I would not be surprised if MS reacted to the PS2 price drop by dropping the Xbox price sooner than planned. And I also think that in addition to the Xbox console, accessories such as controllers and memory cards will also decrease in price ($40 for a controller is simply too expensive in my opinion).

I think that soon, Nintendo will also either drop the GameCube MSRP by $50 down to $149 or pack in a game with the console....or both. If they go the pack-in route they'll probably wait until August 26th so they can pack in Super Mario Sunshine with the console.

Also, Nintendo announced this morning that the price of the GameCube controllers will fall from $34.99 down to $24.99.

Does anyone know of any magical way that I can get my money back and by it for 200? I bought mine in March, 2002. Any chance I can take it anywhere or go back to Sears and return it somehow??? PLEASE?!?!?

I’m not sure dropping the price of the X-Box is such a wise move. It makes Microsoft look desperate. PS2 is already a success so dropping the price will probably just help their sales. X-Box sales on the other hand really haven’t been that great. When people see the price of the X-Box so cheap they’re going to start wondering what’s wrong with the console that they need to drop their price so soon after its release.

The Xbox price drop down to $199 is a reality, effective immediately.

WTF are you talking about? The only place they have had weak sales is Japan where the gamers are entrenched in Sony and Nintendo. When XBOX cut the prices in Europe a few weeks back it boosted sales even further. Sales have been good in the US and decent in Europe so far....

Microsoft is the richest company in the world, don't expect them to quit just because of a slow start. They could just give the consoles away and kick Sony's a$$. :)
