Sadly reminds me of a scene from the movie "Memphis Belle." German fighter planes that were going down would intentionally fly into the B17 bombers. I can only think that the pilot was doing some flyby maneuver that went wrong.
Happens at air shows a lot https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_air_show_accidents_and_incidents_in_the_21st_century
I feel like I hear about one of these happening every year or two years but sheesh... that is one extensive list. Almost makes one wonder if these air shows are even worth it anymore.
I get that, but also everyone who got in those planes knew what they were doing and what the risks were. Should nobody, say, go scuba diving? Or take trips over the Grand Canyon in a helicopter? Or...(name some other stuff) Life is rife with risks.
Somebody has to tell them the war is over Keep those old birds grounded in a museum or something Does half the city's fire departments get called when someone goes scuba diving? This risk is a bit more than personal stunts when driving metal sky boats inside the damn loop.
I’m with some of y’all. We don’t need to see these air shows when the flight paths are congested for mere entertainment and the trajectory is often at risk or the pilots are fatigued as in the case of the one in Smyrna TN …these warplanes are near extinct with less than a couple dozen and even fewer in flying shape and now its less and even worse individuals died in the latest example
When there's a scuba accident? Yes. When there's a helicopter crash? Yes. To your initial question, there were spectators involved in a city setting, so yes, half the city's first responders responded, as they should.
