The best wrestling games were on N64. They were made by the company THQ. They made some awesome games (Wrestlemania 2000, WWF No Mercy, WCW/nWo Revenge).
Hmm...all all that stuff with the ladies being half-naked just was a setup for IOW? Well, now our kids won't be scarred, right Ref? Like to see how this works out...
Nevermind...looks like the IOW was just a stunt for Steph to get her revenge. (that wasn't as good as Eric on Smackdown, though.) I guess we may be stuck with half-naked women for a little longer. Oh the agony!
Well you have to admit that it was nice to see Sleazy E get the atomic nut shot from Steph. Question: If Billy & Chuck win at Unforgiven, Eric has to kiss Steph's ass. Does that mean that she'd bear it live on PPV? THAT I would suspend my objections to see.
Yeah, that was pretty cool! I guess so. And I would put my objections away, as well. (all 3 of them, or was it just 2?) Seems like they just made RVD lose so that he could move on to bigger things, but man Jericho was annoying. I don't even think he celebrated that much when he was the world champ.
Yep...I wouldn't mind seeing Steph bear it...IMHO she's a hottie. I think they're going to use Jericho to give Flair a much needed push after his loss to Rico. Flair is in the midst of his "one last good run." I think the loss to Rico will be set up as Flair's wake up call...and he'll be back as the Flair of old.
Hehe...maybe they should give Flair a run at the belt. Then he'll be the 90,456th time world champion! Man it sucks that my friend doesn't post here anymore. (RedShadow.) I wanted to make fun for his boy, Jeff Hardy. (he's ok, but I like making fun of him when he loses cause I get Red mad.) He spends all his time on some wrestling roleplaying board, but it sucks, imo. I use to do that when I was younger, but I was at a better site. The people are pretty rude, too. He tried getting a match and they all said thar he wasn't good enough and should learn more from somebody else. (but they said it a lot meaner.) Boy, I made that slightly off-topic. Has anyone ever done wrestling roleplaying? I you don't know what that it is, its where you make up a wrestler and talk trash, or roleplay. Some sites have you write out a fight with your opponent. Usually, the better roleplayer will win.
I used to LOVE doing that... Problems: Webmaster fails to update page Fed becomes extremeley clique-ish and roleplaying is ignored Another thing I really hated was whenever I was in a fed that allowed real wrestlers, people that picked the Rock would never have him speak in third person. RC- I've been flirting with the idea of starting up a little e-fed now that I actually have free time... Would anyone be interested in joining or running the Clutch City Wrestling Federation(CCWF)?
I don't know. I'm kind of picky when it comes to E-Feds. I was only apart of one, but I will only join one that was like it. RedShadow is on one that is apart of a forum. Basically, if Clutch would allow it, this thread could become what he was apart of. I'm not sure who decided who won, but I think the 2, or more, wrestlers would. Plus, you would have to write EVERTHING your wrestler does. Here's an example: The lights go out and the song "....." comes on. The lights turn red and point around. Out comes Fred and the Titan Tron has "Go Big Green" on it. Fred walks slowly to the ring and gets in. He punches Joe a few times, but gets hit back with a kick to the stomach. Blah blah blah. (here the current poster will quit and ask the opponent to continue.) I like the kind where you just talk trash, do Promo's, and the Webmaster writes out the matches. Not just some board. Even if it was something I liked, I would probably have to quit soon. Although I'm still doing well here, despite school, basketball is coming up and I'll only have about 6 hours to do stuff at home. Sometimes, I wouldn't have any. But I'd probably do it anyway. I may find some time to do that, and do this BBS as well. So basically, if your's is a site, I'd probably join. Especially if its the CCWF, or CCWE.
Hey, A Goldberg sighting. Goldberg was on PRIDE Fighting, which is similar to the UFC. He didn't fight, he just talked a little. I think he just said stuff like "I hope you Japanese fans like my fighting." and stuff like that. I don't think he was trying to join it. I'm not to sure about what all he said, though. I only saw part of it. edit: Ok, he just is commentating.
Goldberg signed a deal with PRIDE a few weeks back. He will appear at a handful of shows for an enormous amount of money. The only thing standing inthe way of Goldberg to WWE is that Goldberg is demanding a sick amount of money...he wants to be paid like The Rock. Won't happen until you pay your dues in the WWE.
Did you happend to see it? Bill (its funny calling him that.) was friends with a guy named Bob something. That dude was HUGE. He was about as tall as Goldberg, but looked a lot bigger in the body. Had abs too. Bill said he was once up around 450, but was still built. That guy fought, but lost. He was fighting a pretty good guy, and he himself was pretty new. At the beginning, the other guy tried to put him in some kind of arm bar, I think, but Bob picked him up and powerbombed him. Looked pretty cool. But the 10 minute rounds caught up to him and he got tired and gave up in an arm bar later on. Wait, this was supposed to be about Goldberg.
Maaan. I haven't watched wrestling in 2 weeks. I have no idea what has been going on other then hearing about HLA.
Go to prowrestling.com and go to the results section. It'll give you a complete show by show recap. Then you'll be all caught up to speed...ready to enter the fray in this thread.
It is rediculous for Goldberg to be treated like just another newbie. He obviously has a large fan base already built in from his time in the WCW. He would immediately be one of the biggest stars. He probably deserves whatever his contract demands are, and Vince is stupid for not signing him with the slip in both quality and ratings. I personally hope that another federation gets started on a major network and signs Goldberg, Bagwell, Sting, and some other big names and gives us some real wrestling. That would both provide us a good product and improve the WWE with some competition like the WCW used to.
Goldberg's recent contract demands would pay him more than anybody else...including The Rock. You can't possibly be saying that Goldberg would be more popular than The Rock with WWE fans. I was as big a fan of WCW as anybody and I sorly miss it...but Vince doesn't need to shell out that kind of cash to anybody, especially when they are demanding to work just a few days a month. BTW...Sting is reportedly happy in his retirement and has no plans to ever return to active wrestling.
Sting was one of my favorite in WCW. I was kind of wondering why he wasn't wrestling. But if he's happy, that's fine with me. BTW, I don't think Vince should give that amount to Goldberg either.
Sting was really good in his prime...I started watching him when you were 2 years old RC. The problem later on (near the end of WCW) was that his heart just wasn't in it anymore. He is a good man and is happy spending time with his kids and enjoying his newfound faith.
Whoa! I just found this thread, and can't believe I missed it. I just read the whole thing. I'm a huge wrestling fan, going back to the first Wrestlemania. Some thoughts: The WWE needs to go with this Lesnar push for all they got. They should promote him just like WCW did with Goldberg. Have Lesnar destroy everyone in site. Then maybe have the Rock come back and "upset" him against all odds at Wrestlemania. Kind of like the story line of Rocky III (before Mr. T became a cartoon character). But in the mean time, run with Lesnar. He has way more talent than Goldberg ever did. So what if he can't work a mike yet, neither could Goldberg ("Your next!" . . . yawn). Beside, he has the super-heel Heyman paired with him to do talking. Speaking of which, I like Heyman as an agent (but where is his cell phone?). But I hated him as a commentator. I think my favorite show in the past few years was when Vince fired him (after the WCW invasion), and brought back the King. What relief! Also, when on that same show he had Stephanie carried away by security ("Say goodbye to daddy's little girl!!!"). I don't mind all the extra-curricular. I enjoy the wresting action (sometimes), but I have always watched the show primarily for the story-line, the swerves, and the smack. I tape the shows so that I can fast-forward through the commercials (there are so many, and they're so long!). A lot of times, I fast forward though most of the matches, until about the last minute of the match. The exception is someone with really good ringwork - Jeff Hardy, RVD, Rey Mysterio, Lesnar, etc. I even enjoyed HLA, a little bit. 3 minutes is kind of funny, too. I enjoyed when Bubba was a heel, and he used to put women through tables, and then go into a trance. The best was when he put Mae Young through a table off the stage. However, I don't have kids and I like sleaze most of the time, so I can respect everyone else's contrary opinion on this one. Speaking of Bubba, whatever happened to his stutter? Was it not politically correct? Same with wrestling matches between the "little people." Not PC? Vince rarely worries about PC, so what happened? My wife will usually watches most of the shows with me, and has been to the Wrestlemania at the dome, and the shows at the Summit, with me. I think her favorite is Booker, because he is so funny (dawg!). She likes the ladies matches a lot, too, because she is pretty athletic herself and probably thinks this is something she might have been able to do. She loved Tough Enough I and II. She is also amazed at how these women don't fall out of their tops, and how they wrestle with implants. (I heard Chyna had one rupture on her during a match, though). I personally was happy they picked two women in Tough Enough II - the WWE needs more talented women wrestlers. Going back a ways, I think my favorite tag team had to be the Bushwackers. That funny walk they did to the ring, the way they talked, how they ate anchovies with their mouths open (with half of them falling out), the missing teeth. It was good to see them brought back at the gimmick battleroyal at the Houston Wrestlemania, and I wish they would have won. The Iron Shiek won, but he used to be one of my favorites, too. He was hilarious during promos - you couldn't understand half of what he said. I saw quite a few references in this thread to Kamala. Isn't he the one that was responsible for Foley losing half of his ear? I think Foley wrote that in one of his books. He was fight in a ring that had twine for ropes, and Kamala drug him against the twine, which sliced off half his ear. Someone picked up the half at ringside, but Foley doesn't know what happened to it? This all happened before the Tyson-Holyfield bite/fight. Finally, speaking of blood and guts, is it just me, or has there been a whole lot more blading in the past year. This seemed to be an old school trick, but you see it now at almost every pay per view, and even on some of the weekly matches. And it is the top stars that blade - Flair, Undertaker, Triple H, Angle. Triple H has a scab right now on his forehead that is like a faucet - all he has to do is turn it on. For a while, Regal's nose would bleed every week. My point is, there must be pressure from Vince or Stephanie (the head writer) for the wrestlers to take even more extreme action, and blading is evidence of this. I don't think it started up again until after WCW went out of business, and Vince had a monopoly. Are these wrestlers tested for AIDS, Hepatitis, etc.? What happens if one of the wrestlers bleeds on someone in the first row? It just surprises me that in this day and age we are seeing so much of this.
