Just wanted to bump this and ask what are yall's thoughts on last night's Raw. All I have to say is that if its that crappy when it comes here at the end of the month, im going be VERY upset. Come'on the whole HLA?? What the hell is that about? They are REALLY desperate for ratings if thats happening. And the whole Smackdown "commitment" angle is just ridicioulous. All I have to say is that those 2 better have gotten a raise for this. But, for me I need wrestling, whatever they shell out, I am going to end up watching it. I admit, there is probably not one single angle where I would just stop watching. Unless, it gets really crappy like the last days of WCW.
I know it's fake or scripted, but I thought the HLA thing went too far. I hate seeing women getting hit by 350 pound guys. Scripted or not. BTW, one of them did get injured.
The last couple of RAWs have been pretty bad. Mebbe it'll pick up around the time the next PPV comes around? They had started getting better, a little interesting, and then ... total crap.
yeah RAW is really in hole right now think Kane needs a push for the title, that gives them a solid 4 in RVD, HHH, Jane and Jericho. which would be greatly enhanced if they stopped Jericho losing all the time and killing his love to hate him factor that is the key with him, although they are trying to do that with HHH now, Jericho is much better at it, his arogance and swagger is sensational when on... pity they have turned him into a blubbering git being scared of Edge and losing to geriatric flair. Some more Booker T and FairyDust skits would be great tooooo. But really i think the downward spiral will only be stopped if they can land Goldberg, Steiner and Sting types and really just turn it into Nitro2
The Billy and Chuck angle and the HLA from RAW are two of the wrost things I have seen...EVER...PERIOD. When Bischoff came out to the ring I actually expected him to make a wrestling announcement...like maybe somebody jumped ship from Smackdown or maybe they signed a new talent. Nope...it was HLA. I looked at my TV and actually said: "Would it freaking kill you guys to just have WRESTLING???!!!!" If I want HLA...I know where to go...and it ain't WWE programming. If all I was interested in was T and A...I'd dial up the porno channel rather than pop $34.95 for a WWE PPV. The product will not get better until Vince McMahon learns that simple fact.
I didn't think it was too great either. Lets just say I have a bunch of hormones raging at my age, but HLA didn't make me thrilled to be watching it. I was also dissapointed in the attack as well, which was predictable and looked bad. The Booker T, Goldust and Kane thing is pretty cool, so far. It was cool that RVD won, since he's one of my favorites. But they do need some new big names, I think. They will almost have to recycle battles soon.
Maybe they need some new blood. They used to make stars, now they're destroying it. I would love for y2j to be the cowardly heel, but only if he manages to win. It's pointless if he loses. He was better in wcw. They need something to spark the wwe, and hhh vs bubba won't do it (not the way it looks like it's gonna happen), and I'm not sure Lesnar is charismatic enough to carry the brand until the Rock is back.
I missed it, I can't give me judgement on it. I heard it sucked anyway. I need to be the Booker for Raw.
I can't remember the last time WWE gripped me in an angle I just had to see out. I can't remember the last time I was able to watch an entire show without turning the channel a few times. The Un-Americans thing few weeks ago was very unsavory and it upset me. Perhaps I should had expected something like this because I know how the WWE is inclined to "push the envelope" but the country doesn't need this especially in New York at this time of the year. I used to have been able to enjoy the show a few years ago but since 2001 I think the program has just stunk. It sucks because I used to be a huge fan and still try to follow it. I used to be a passionate fan. I hate to criticize the show like this but its just how I feel about it now. Maybe a year or two down I'll be able to see it like I used too but its difficult to watch the programming now. But I think its cool to see a following still there especially here.
Makes me yearn for the good old days at the grungy Sam Houston Coliseum with Paul Boesch, Johnny Valentine, Wild Bull Curry and Wahoo McDaniel. Now that was rasslin'.
That's my point...WWE would be better off long term if they had more rasslin' and less "sports entertainment" whatever the hell that is. People who tune in for the bra and panties match. etc. will not be there long term. The people who love WRESTLING are the people that Vince has gotten rich off of. He needs to understand it for what it is and adjust back accordingly.
The gay thing on Smackdown was just not worth it...they shouldn't have done that crap....where the hell is Lesnar? The HLA crap on Raw, man.....they are just running out of crap now....the Rock, Goldberg, SCSA....they better find the right place and come back to the WWE!!
I was just watching Smackdown. Things aren't looking good. Brock vs. Hardcore Holly as the first match. I can't remember another time when the champ was jerking the curtain (opening the show). The bookers are so confused.
Uh...why are they calling this the season premiere? I thought that was just used for shows that end and begin, not shows that are on year-round. Maybe they just want this episode to sound great or something. BTW, I kind of liked Kurt Angle's little "speech." "And I'm going to get on top of you...WAIT, NO, NO..!" Hahaha. Kurt's pretty good at acting stupid.
Oh...ok. I don't watch UPN much, and I missed the beginning of Smackdown so must of missed that. Yeah, it was. I knew that peace dude had something going on, but I didn't guess it was Eric. Also surprised that the gay thing was all an act. Pretty cool that the Ho Train came back too.
Yeah, they actually did a good job with the makeup job there. And good to see the crowd lovin' the Godfather.
that was a pretty good show. Hopefully Godfather doesn't come back for good, his matches are awful. Brock pumping his chest at a frightened pregnant woman, lol, wtf was that?
