I thought raw was a good show. matt hardy sucked. i missed smackdown. I am looking forward to raw. I hope it can follow what it did monday. This right here is my favorite part of the year for wrestling. Summerslam is the second biggest PPV of the year, and is the start of the build up to WrestleMania 19. WrestleMania 19, Reliant Stadium. Okay, maybe not. But I wish.
We'll disagree. RAW left me sleepy...not a strong performance IMO. Me too. Nope...but it will host one soon I'll bet. It is the best facility of its type in the nation. We may even be able to get a WrestleMania there once every 5 years or so if we play our cards right.
Anyone know when RAW (or even Smackdown) is next scheduled for Houston? There's no doubt I'll be going to that.... Though I wish it would be Smackdown. I'd like to see Hogan one last time before he's gone. (Though I hear he'll have a hiatus for a while).
That's right, I'm bringing this back. I just wanted to ask you wrestling fans what you thought of Kane beating up the Un-Americans? Its funny, I knew exactly what was going to happend, but I really enjoyed him kicking their butts. Shoot, they even had the "you can't hurt me with a chair." move, which I usually hate but liked this time. I think its just cool to see guys who diss America get the sh..stuff knocked out of them. Any thoughts?
yea i got a few thoughts RC. first of all i seriously thought the kane-a-roni was pretty funny. but i dont really like kane's new suit, it just doesnt look right. i actually enjoyed the "you cant hurt me with a chair move" its one of my favs.and kane did have perfect timing on the promo and coming out and beating up the un-americans. well anyway even though kane is pretty cool my favorite wrestler would have to be jeff hardy.i particularly enjoyed his match with chris jerihoe, oh i mean chris jericho. well thats all i got for today
The chair shot is ok for the first couple of times, but after a while it gets old. Numerous times Kane has not been hurt, then he started to go down a little and could get beat up. Now he's invincible again. Kind of like Goldberg and how the Big Show were. (back a few years, that it.) I somehow knew you were going to mention that. I don't like the Hardy's very much, although I don't like Jericho at all. Who won that anyways? It was too boring.
I'll give credit to the Rock for putting Brock over. However, it's getting stale. Heard vince is talking to Goldie. May be just what the doctor ordered.
Vince is talking to Goldberg. But from the reaction in the lockerroom to SummerSlam, it looks like HBK will be resuming his wrestling career. Also Kevin Nash will be coming back in a few months. Rhyno will be back in a few weeks. Randy Savage has been in discussions with WWE. Mike Awesome is ready to go and so is Kanyon. It looks like there is help on the way.
Rock has been stale for ages. I'm glad someone else is in the spotlight now. Kanerooni was just as hip as Taker's biker image, as in not at all.
They just aired a commercial last night during Raw that they are coming on 09/30 for a Live Showing of Raw. I am defenitley going. Went to the the last 2 Smackdowns they had here and it was a blast. Wanted to mentioned this cause my friend has Direct TV and he said that he didnt see the commercial. As for whats going on, I have to say that Shawn Michaels put on a damn good show at SummerSlam. I thought it was going to be borring as hell because of his condition but he really is a showstopper. He was a bit slow, but that was expected, and things he did, just unbelieveable. The Rey and Angle match was good, glad they arent pushing Rey yet by giving him a win already. I wasnt really surprise that Brock won, that was kinda expected with Rock doing another movie. The rest was "OK", the tag team match was dissapointing because I want Booker and Goldust to win. As for Raw, not too bad of a show. The beginning and ending segments are the best part of the show. Kinda wanted to see HBK, but thats going to happen, they are giving him time off to show that he was "really" hurt.
Tickets for RAW go on sale on September 7 at 10am. I'll be there. Is there anything that you DO like? I'm just curious as to what you would like to see since their current offering is obviously not to your liking.
I was almost going to hate the Kane-a-roony, since I figured he would do it and I don't like him looking goofy. (you know, "and the millions of Kanenites," kind of thing.) But when he did it, I laughed and didn't have a problem with it. I liked Taker when he was the "Dead man," but I think I'm getting use to his new one. On another note, HBK did look pretty good, IMO. I almost forgot how good he was. I didn't know if it was just me, though. I usually had always like him, so he could have been terrible and I probably would have liked it. edit: Where the heck is RedShawdow? I told him I'd bring this thread up for him, and he only posted once. And he's about as big a fan as me. Last time I do him a favor. If anyone cares, his mob nickname is "Danger Prone." (from the Soprano thread.) Wait, THAT is actually the last favor I'll do...Ahh forget it. I'll do a lot favors for him, I guess.
I like a good heel. Jericho is doing so-so even though they have been wasting him recently having him wrestle Flair. (quit having Flair wrestle dammit) Angle is entertaining. Kane is okay, but not if they are going to try to give him the supernatural gimmick again, or I hope they don't try to give him the "big guy with a personality" ala Big Show. Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero rawk. Eddie has the heel bit worked to freaking perfection. Brock is cool. Only bad thing about him is that sometimes he oversells. One sec he can take a chair shot unfazed, the next he's punchdrunk from a couple of weak jabs. HHH is alright. What's up with the Un-Americans? Hasn't this angle been done to death already? About as entertaining as right to censor was. Those 3 are better on their own without that gimmick imo.
The interesting thing is that Jericho is playing a similar type of heel that Flair played back in the 80s. The gimmick is updated and modified to include his rock band...but when you boil it down it's the same type of heel. It's great...timeless. I think the Un-Americans are getting fantastic heel heat right now. The gimmick is working and they are over right now.
He did really good heel work in WCW. Give him a chance to grow into the very different role they have given him in WWE. He's evolving and will end up being really good.
Jericho's been struggling all year. Has he even won a match in a while? I wonder if he minds the direction his character is going. I thought I heard somewhere he was up for contract negotiations. No telling how that will effect anything. Mysterio continues to kick ass. And Eddie has always been a solid wrestler. When they face each other (or if Benoit is involved), its fun as hell to watch. And I'll definitely be at Raw come September.
