I've got the footage of Brock doing the SSP on my comp. It's scary it looks so good. It looked like his days at OVW and the turnbuckles looked a bit more springy then the WWE, but it was still awesome. Plus, the guy he pins is like a 1/3 of the way across the ring, not 2 feet away like Kidman. The fact that a rookie who's 6'4", 295 can do an SSP better than a veteran "high flyer" who's probably MAYBE 6'0", about 215 is frightening.
Goldberg would instantly be the 3rd most popular guy if he was in the wwe. Remember whenVince bought wCW? The wwe crowd chanted for him. He was fading a bit at wcw, but he would be an instant main-eventer. That is worth 7 figures, imo.
I agree. Right now the main issue is not money. Goldberg realizes that nobody is going to pay him 7 figures right now. The main reason he isn't in WWE right now is the content of their programming. All of this comes from an interview I read on Bill Goldberg's official website. I'm not sure whether the interview is still posted at that site or not. It has been a few weeks since I read it.
Is Goldberg still appalled about the raunchy programming? I know he mentioned it awhili back. Guess money isn't too important to him.
Speaking of Goldberg, is the writing staff so devoid of talent that they're ripping off his gimmick yet again(first Lesnar, now Bautista)?! Seriously, that's the best they could come up with? Ugh.
Batista, at the moment, doesn't seem to have the natural charisma Goldberg had. I remember Goldie's first Nitro. Crowd loved him. Wow. HHH just dominated HBK without any help. I think it's a set up of course.
It's kind of hard to win over the crowd by dominating scrubs when you were previously the lame sidekick of freaking D-Von. testify. Him being part of a group like the 4 horsemen would be cool though. He could feed off the charisma of others while being a beast and continuing to get a huge push.
First yeah I also remember Goldberg's first TV match. The crowd was kinda "what the HELL?" when he no-sold Hugh Morrus' (excuse me, now Bill DeMott's) moonsault and then killed him. Of course, he then repeated the same match 100 times so it kinda lost some of it's luster. Only thing he really added was the Jackhammer, if I remember correctly. Second, Batista seem like he'd be good in the Arn Anderson "Enforcer" role, as long as he has someone like Ric Flair to talk for him and someone to tag with. I believe I've read that they'd have a new Horsemen type deal with Flair as the spokeman, 3H in the Flair role, Batista as Arn Anderson, and Randy Orton as Barry Windham/Paul Roma (ugh, Roma). Not quite the mystique, but it seems like an effective group.
If they bring back the Horsemen the best rundown would be: Manager- Ric Flair (kinda like JJ Dillon in the old days) HHH (in the old Flair role) Batista (as the Enforcer) Orton & a partner (as the up and coming tag team) See the 4 Horsemen was a manager, a prima donna, an enforcer, and a tag team.
who do you think should be the 4th ref? No one really comes to mind imo. Can't really be a big name to upstage HHH, but not really a 3rd newcomer like Bautista and Orton to take away from their heat. hmmm. Christian mebbe? Lance Storm? Can't think of any other est. vet tag teamish guys from Raw.
Well...they could go with Chris Nowinski. He is arrogant enough and has been around just long enough and is recognizable enough to not need a huge push. If not him then they could go with D'Lo Brown or somebody else they have buried as of late.
Nowinski is a reach of a character. HE tries to get cheap heat, and it just hasn't happened. Same with Test and his testicles. Some guys simply have "it." It may not be apparent in the beginning, but the Rock, Goldie, SCSA, etc. all have it. I think we also have the four horsemen misconfigured. AA may have been the enforcer, but the "role" was interchangeable. Enforcer could mean the muscle. Guys like Luger and Sid Vicious had that role. While AA was nicknamed the "enforcer," he was also a tag specialist with Ole and Tully Blanchard. 4 horsemen = 1 world chamion contender, 1 I/C-U.S. champion contender, and one tag team champion contender. At one point, Flair was the world champ, Windham was the U.S., Arn and Tully were the tag champs. So, if the wwe were to do it right, it would go like this: HHH = world contender Batista = I/C or whatever they have now, if anything. ORton/partner = tag champs. I do think that ORton will eventually be bigger then both hhh and Batista. He has "it" and he's young.
Batista just doesn't strike me as a Horesman. HHH was made to be a Horseman. I would say that Orton could make a decent Horesman also. Any chance of Goldust being a Horseman?
I don't think there will ever be a gay or minority horseman in our lifetime. They're the establishment; the Republicans.
Goldust... gay? I think Jericho would make an awesome Horseman as well. Am I the only one who thinks Jericho was better in WCW than in WWF? I remember that fat "personal security" guard he had in WCW.
Yep...I agree with that analysis. Does anybody else remember when Arn and Tully came to the WWF and were known as the Brainbusters, managed by Bobby Heenan?
