They'll go a long way...but RAW won't be saved unless the writing team uses them properly. They haven't a good record of that recently.

They should fire Gewirtz and replace him with writing team member Koskie. Koskie has a background in WRESTLING...something Gewirtz never mastered.

Seems like this BBS has someone suited for that job..........did you ever think about it?

I don't know if you were talking about me...but I have thought about it. WWE requires TV writing experience and a communications degree.

I doubt they'd hire a lawyer who has been a long time and knowledgable fan. Maybe RAW would do better if they would. :D

Hey Ref actually according to what I've read the last time the WWE put out an ad for writers they wanted people with soap opera experience. Yeah that's great. Geez McMahon ,let Heyman be head booker over both shows (not just Smackdown) and have guys like Terry Taylor (good to see him back) and even Jim Ross (as long as he gives the smaller guys a chance) act as kind of an emergency break for Heyman when he starts getting crazy (see last couple of years of ECW). Then they've got Fit Finlay, Johnny Ace, Arn Anderson, and Dean Malenko to plan out the matches.

Of course, since Heyman isn't (allegedly) a huge fan of HHH and would probably push guys like Angle, Benoit and RVD this will never happen, at least not until HHH breaks up with Steph. Now with Steiner coming in we've got another injury prone 'roid freak to clog up the main event scene. Ugh, and I've still got Big Show-Lesnar to look forward to at Survivor Series  . And this Elmination Chamber thing? If it turns out to be a way for HHH to bury 5 guys more popular than him I'm going to start plotting flights to Stamford, CT to picket the WWE building.

Apparently Heyman is a fan of technical ability or just physical entertainment (ecw), but hh has more charisma then all 3 of these guys combined. And I think Angle is the ****. But, hhh....

You're onto something there. HHH has a ton of charisma...but the more fans come to know how much political pull he has due to his relationship with Steph...the more fans will be sickened by him hanging onto the belt.

The reason people buy PPVs is because they want to see the spectacle and not know what's going to happen. If they know HHH is gonna win because of his relationship with Steph...they aren't going to buy.

The thing is, HHH (actually I'm thinking about calling him Terra Rizing, that bad gimmick should never be forgotten) has become so overexposed to the wrestling public that I don't even find him that great on the mic anymore. When all you get is Terra going "I am the Game and I am that Damn Good!" every Raw, anytime RVD gets the mic and makes fun of Terra (see the great "I'm Mr. Muscle and Fitness!" promo from several weeks ago) it's more entertaining because it's different. Plus, IMHO, Angle is tremendous on the mic, especially when you consider how long he's been in the WWE.

Actually Ref I get the PPV's (don't ask) and if you ever want to yell about the booking c'mon over and watch it (assumming you're in Houston, of course). Just let me know if you're a psycho murderer before hand, okay? :D

I usually do too. Mrs. Ref lets me...it's the best way for her to get me in one spot for 3 hours. :)

Not me...that's too much effort. lol
Plus being a murderer would have a horrible effect on my law license. :D

I'll let you know if I can get away for a PPV...thanks for the invite.

Perhaps we should have a cc.net PPV party at BW3 sometime.

Sounds good to me. Geez Survivor Series might actually be good for me because my regular viewing friends will be out of town, working, or doing other things. However, this relatively short notice may make it too difficult to work things out so no worries. The only problem is that I only get to watch the replay at 10 PM since I don't get off work until 9  . Ah well it'll work out somehow.

Maybe we should target Armageddon in December. Somebody should start a thread about planning a get together. :)

Sounds like a plan to me. Uhhh....go ahead and do the important thinkin' man's stuff Ref. You're the one with all the high falutin' schoolin' LOL. To be honest if things don't improve December might BE Armageddon in more ways than once for the WWE. Of course, I'll withold judgement until after SS.

Assumming Brock beats Show (oh please oh please oh please) and SOMEONE, ANYONE beats Terra (Booker or RVD anyone?) I might hold out some hope and see if Big Poppa Pump-ed full of roids and others (Orton, Cena, Batista) can create a new generation for the Fed (a la Michaels Austin and Hart in the mid-90's). If, however, Terra uses this as a way to get his job back from Michaels and continue with Raw is HHH, I'm going to be mighty upset. And to paraphrase the great Dr. Banner, they wouldn't like me when I'm angry. Oh well, I've always got my little buddies the cruiserweights. When all else fails a match involving any combination of Tajiri, Rey Rey, Kidman, Helms, Noble, Guido, and Spanky (watch out for this guy, he's nuts) never fails to put a smile on my face.

Man, looking back at this post reminds me what a bitter and angry smark I've become. Oh well c'est la vie.

    A couple of things:

    1. Why have te Big Show seem like the irresistible object vs Lesnar when Show has lost to Booker T 5 times in the last month?

    2. Batista generated little heat from the crowd. Kind of surprised by that.

    3. Who is the wrestler to be named later in the Big Show trade?

    1. They need to give him a push at some point.

    2. I'm surprised too. Expect him to get more heat when he joins a new 4 Horsemen group with HHH, Orton and somebody else. Flair will likely play the JJ Dillon role.

    3. My guess is that it was Maven. I guess we'll find out at some point.

Yeah. The thing is, I think everyone knows it will be a virtual squash at SS. Well, maybe not that, but I would be shocked if The Big Show won.

I think Kane vs Lesnar would be awesome.

They are trying to give Lesnar the same type of monster build up WCW gave Goldberg in 1999. Sadly they aren't doing it very well.

Not really WWE's fault. The only guy left for him to go over on SmackDown is Angle, and allegedly that's going to be the main event for Wrestlemania next year. Though I certainly wouldn't mind seeing a monstrous squash of Edge...

Anyway, Brock/Show is in the mold of Hogan/Andre. If he can F-5 that slug, he'll be more over than Alicia Silverstone's career.

...but his notorious shooting star press needs to come out. I'm beginning to think it's only a rumor he can do it.

Believe me, he can do it. I've seen footage of him actually doing it, so it can be done.
