Austin quit because of Brian Gerwitz's "hotshot booking." When there is a match with no buildup at all it is called a "hotshot angle." The hotshot angle that Gerwitz wanted had Stone Cold jobbing to Lesnar. Stone Cold reportedly told Gerwitz that he had no problem doing the job, but wanted them to build up an angle prior to the match. Gerwitz insisted that they just announce the match at the beginning of the show and have the match later that night with no buildup. Austin walked.

The ring work last night was good overall. Triple H vs. RVD and Angle vs. Benoit was fantastic efforts from a ringwork perspective.

They need a union...but not because of blading. They need a union for retirement planning and so they can obtain health insurance. Too often you see a guy get hurt and have to quit wrestling. He has no health insurance and no retirement money. So in a few years he's basically penniless. That is why they need a union. Most wrestlers actually don't mind blading. Those who do not blade have their opponent do a maneuver on them in which they hit the forehead in just the right way so that it doesn't really hurt but it splits the skin open...they call it juicing.

Ugliest baby I've ever seen then.

I think hot shot booking is a sign of a desperate show. Mid carders can do it; but a non-title holding uppercard guy shouldn't have to fight another uppercard guy. WCW did plenty of this when things were headed downhill.

Flair and HHH would make awesome heels together, imo.

Thanks for the info on Austin, et al. On juicing, does this cause scaring to the forehead (i.e. Ric Flair)?

Nobody really knows for sure, because juicing is pretty new. One of the first guys I ever heard talk about it was Mick Foley in one of his books. My guess is that there will be some scarring, but the guys won't look like Dusty Rhodes.

Did anybody else's eyes started freaking out while they played that RAW anthem? I didn't know flashing lights could still effect people through the TV.

Yea, my eyes were a perfect 20/20 to check out Stacy dancing!

WHOOOHOOO!! THE HURRICANE ON RAW!!!! Thats too awesome. I am just happy that he is going to be on Raw next week. I am happy they got the tag belts but I think Booker/Goldust deserve it before they do.

Yeah, I thought it was sort of stupid to have them win their 1st match while BT\GD have fought way more. But the talk backstage was pretty funny. "Freaks are cool!"

So I take WrestleMania XIX is going to be in Seattle. Safeco Field I presume.

Man, all i say is, we better land WrestleMania XX at Reliant Stadium. I hope they don't go to New York (or E Rutherford, though, they could pull it off in Queens.

I would say that would be a bit too soon. They just had Wrestlemania here last year and would be a bit early for it to be here 3 years later. Maybe it will be in NY for the WM XX, just like it was at MSG for the I and X WM. I wouldnt be surprise though if we do land a major PPV soon because maybe the WWE had a deal with Bob McNair in order to host a major PPV @ Reliant Stadium in the future, they had to have one first at the Astrodome.

It wouldn't suprise me to see Houston in the regular rotation for WM. That would bring it here every 5 years or so. They came to Houston for WM XVII because they make a lot of money when they come to Houston. Since then the WWE has been having events here more frequently.

I agree with you on that. Before WM, they only came to Houston maybe at most, twice a year (TV show and a House Show). This year alone, this will be their 4th time here in Houston and second televised event (they came in Jan, April, July, and now Monday). I am all for it. Its a hell of a fun time going to these events. The house shows are "ok" but the televised events are much better.

Man, Raw is sucking....and now Ric Flair is teaming up w/ Triple HHH??? What is the deal w/ them....

And then they recruit some rejects from Smackdown (Rico, Hurricane)?!? Randy Orton isn't a bad pick for Raw...but damn...

I use to respect Raw and I hated Smackdown....and now WTF?!? They are going to have fire some of those writers and come up w/ some better angles...

Why the hell does Booker T always have to get his ass kicked? He deserves to be a title contender, rather than being in stupid angles with Goldust.

I'm wondering why on earth Randy Orton is getting air time on Raw. Ridiculous, this guy should be relegated to house shows ONLY....and the ring work in the Rosy/Jamal vs. Booker T/Goldust match was pathetic. Goldust missed several moves as Rosy and Jamal looked horrible.

Not a good start to raw...

couldn't agree more kidrock. Booker has been working the mic to perfection lately ... kinda like the Rock used to. But then he goes out and has to job with some frickin losers like Golddust or the unAmericans.

he should be getting a title push imo.

You bring up good points as well Trader Jorge. The show has sucked ass so far. Switching between this and the lame MNF game right now.

Orton's got "the look." Sad to see a fine wrestler like Storm job to him in 2 minutes though.

Did Orton lose to Lesnar on Smackdown a few weeks back? I think it was someone who looked alot like him.

Raw's set looks like Nitro. Check out how dark it is in the crowd. Total Nitro trait. I like it better when it's bright.

Has this been a trend for a while? If not, it's probably the crappy lighting at the Compaq Center, where Rockets games look "dark".

Am I the only one who thinks Kane sucks? I've never liked that guy at all...
