Goldberg is posturing. He wants people to get all anxious to see him in WWE. He thinks that if the people start clammoring to see him then WWE will simply cave into his ridiculous demands.

Not that it is worth anything either, but from an interview I heard with Vince Russo:
I have worked with just about everybody in this business. I haven't gotten along with everybody. Hogan and I never saw eye to eye on anything. Piper and I have had some serious differences. But I liked them all as human beings. Out of all the people I have worked with in this business, there is only ONE guy I didn't like as a human being. That is Bill Goldberg. He's a crappy human being.

I'm paraphrasing, but quoting as much as I can recall. That's a pretty damning statement to be made by a guy who, whether you like him or not, has worked with just about EVERY wrestler in the business today.

I don't know about Russo calling out Bill like that; Bill does alot of charity work for a crappy human being.

Ref, there is alot of people clamoring for Goldberg. You remember the RAW when Vince bought wcw. Those Goldberg chants weren't piped in.

Anyone know anything of the roles of randleman, coleman, et all in new japan?

On his website, Goldberg says that of all the people in the biz, Russo is the person he likes the least. Look under the December 3, 2002 question here.

The flip side is that if he waits too long, many people may forget about him.

Well, if he waits 5 years. But, I think right now, people are dying to see him.

Even crappy human beings have causes they support. Also don't forget that it keeps him in the public light.

It is uncontroverted by anybody who was in WCW at the time that Goldberg didn't want to turn heel. That may not sound like a big deal, but remember that good wrestlers do what the creative team deems appropriate. If he was on a movie set, such behavior would not be tolerated.

Doubtful. He was the most over guy on the WCW roster.

The last WCW telecast I watched was when Hogan was feuding with Billy Kidman (so bear with me as I don't know much of what his regime is responsible for), but to be fair to Goldberg, isn't Russo the same guy credited with putting the title on David Arquette and otherwise nailing WCW's coffin shut?

I am NOT a Vince Russo fan. I loathe his shock TV style of "sports entertainment." But Vince Russo didn't kill WCW. WCW's corporate culture killed WCW. Management allowed the top level talent trash Russo's ideas so that the younger guys couldn't get over. When that happens, your company is dead.

What WCW management did was to give Russo the book with one hand and hold a HUGE Pink Pet eraser in the other.

That theory is probably close to fact, but it went on in the wwe as well (Taker for example). I don't think HOgan,Nash and dDP necessarily killed wcw, they were still very over. Russo tried to push the young guys, but the ratings didn't go up then either.

That was one of the sorriest performances that WCW put together. No DDP, Sting, and Goldberg. It was that sorry ass Sid that was up for the main event. But at least I was on TV like 85% of the time :D

I feel for Austin. WWE has been sucking since he left. And w/ Rock ALWAYS being out, WWE really needs Goldberg and Nathan Jones. From reading Austin's interview, the writers need to let the wrestlers do what they can do to improvise in the ring rather listening to the damn writers, who don't know ****. That's why the WWE sucks right now.

Funny. That's what Vince Russo said as well.

improvise all you want, but there should be a somewhat set sequence and time. the match tells a story, right?

Right...back in the days before Gewirtz and crew took over...creative would tell the talent...you have x number of minutes on the mic, and here is a list of bullet points we want you to cover. The wrestler would then go about developing his own promo, covering the points that creative wanted.

Morley used to wrestle in Mexico for a couple of years. I am figuring he picked up some Spanish while wrestling there. In fact, I've seen him speak spanish on a show that wwe had a few years ago called Super Astros. If I can remember it, i'll post it later. He wrestled under a mask.

edit. I think he was called Steel.
    and Bischoff, i dunno.
