Oh I think we'll see Jonah fairly soon. He'll wrestle the indys for a couple months, then WWE'll snap him up. The kid has enough size to go with his mic work. As to the two winners, I've had them called for about a month. John is just too athletic (standing SSP?) and Matt has a good look and just enough size. Eric seems to dry, and isn't big enough to make up for it (Batista, I'm looking at YOU). And yes, Matt will be wrestling Holly before too long I imagine. Hopefully Matt gets to pin him about a dozen times in a row on TV.
My evaluation of the finalists: 1) Matt: A natural and extremely professional. I knew he'd win. 2) John: Do we really need a third Hardy Boy? He has good ring skills, but I question his mic skills and his attitude. 3) Eric: Plain vanilla. Just not an interesting personna, plus he exhibited a lot of immaturity on the Iceland trip. 4) Jonah: Good ring skills. A lot of charisma, would be good as a babyface. Seems like a good lockerroom guy. Would be a good addition to the roster. I would have picked him over John. Just my opinion...but that's the way I see it.
I agree with John being selected after seeing that standing SSP and flip twist off the top rope, just amazing. But Matt, I disagree on, Jonah shouldve took his spot. I hear rumours that if Matt didnt win, his parents were going to sue the company for his beating from Hardcore. Jonah has the ring mic skills down and thats why we WILL see him in the future. Eric just screwed himself over at the Iceland trip and I honestly thought he was going to get cut there.
I would like to see Jonah again. If anything, losing is not always the end (see Chris Nowinski, Josh). In fact, I bet Nowinski ends up with a better career than Maven. He definitely has a better gimmick, and has been getting more air time. What ever happened to the Tough Enough II winners, Jackie and Linda? Are they down at OVW?
Jackie and Linda are both at OVW as I understand it. Jackie is (or was) recovering from an injury too. I agree about Chris Harvard having a better gimmick than Maven. Also, Chris has better mic skills than alot of guys in the WWE! I'm pretty sure we'll see Jonah with the WWE in the future. I'd bet on it. Matt is very good technically speaking and he has what the insiders call "heart". lol. It will be neat to see him in the ring with Hardcore Holly, you know they'll be all over that angle.
From what I have heard, both Linda and Jackie are at OVW, and will likely be there for the term of their contracts. Neither have proven to be good enough ring workers to justify them being on RAW or Smackdown.
I assumed all contestants signed a form waiving the WWE of responsibility for injuries, accidents, etc. suffered in the ring.
Possible spoilers, but something tells me Rocky wouldn't be this open about upcoming storylines- unless it's a swirve! http://www.1wrestling.com/news/newsline.asp?news=12246
Ummm...is it just me or is it unlikely that The Rock would tell the entire WWE plan for the next couple of months to some jabroni who was an extra in Helldorado?
Well, I guess the Rock heel push is on. They must be trying to ease him into it, though. It was a somewhat confusing promo last night. Rock sent some mixed messages, and the crowd reaction was mixed. The "live feed" from Hollywood was kind of a nice touch; i.e. he is too big of a Hollywood star to appear in person. He also had the "Green Bay is cold" and the slam on Hogan. Being propped by Vince also can draw heat. But he still played to the crowd a little with his standard lines, and it looked like about half the crowd went for it. He will need to turn it up a notch to get to full heel status.
I get the feeling that the WWE brass doesn't really know what to do with The Rock. To get him really over as a heel would take time. Time is one thing they don't have with The Rock. It is likely that he will go back to Hollywood after WrestleMania. The constant barrage of Rock comebacks isn't good for the business.
Lord, some of the crowds lately have sucked. Too many fans who don't know what the hell they want, and/or don't get excited for sh**. It's a show for goddsakes. Cheer here, boo the same guy soon after, maybe a cheer again....the shows would be sooo much better if they had some less jaded crowds who pumped up the feed. That's why Rock/Hogan was so awesome; the crowd had chosen its sides and went absolutely nuts. When they get into it and enjoy themselves it makes the matches so much better.
I just watched the Royal Rumble from this year and last year. Why do they keep having the Undertaker defeated in such an embarassing fashion? First he gets drop kicked by freakin' Maven, then he gets non-chalantly dumped by Brock Lesnar. The guy has been a force in the WWF/E for more than ten years, give him one stinkin' Royal Rumble.
So does goldberg to the wwe look likely now? Also, what are the roles of the shoot fighters in new japan? Are they "shooting" or doing the choreographed stuff.
Not looking likely in the immediate future. There are 2 main areas of disagreement between Goldberg and WWE. 1. Number of dates. (Bill wants a ridiculously low number of dates) 2. Money (Bill wants an unreasonably large sum of money per date) I think he'll come down on his expectations once he sits out long enough. At that point, I expect him to sign a long term WWE deal...but it won't be for a while.
This is worth absolutely nothing, but Goldberg hinted that the wwe was a viable possibility. And, imo, Godberg is a bigger draw than scsa or the Rock.
