Anybody catch WrestleMania? Slight disappointment, IMHO. Didn't get the Trish heel turn. She's the most over female grappler, and it's not like there's a shortage of heels in the womens' division (Molly Holly, Gail Kim, possibly Shaniqua in the not-too-distant future). I'm not a big Jericho fan either, but it seems a little stupid jobbing him out to Christian of all people. Rock and Sock vs. Evolution delivered, but the finish was pretty lame. All the great buildup with Foley getting beatdown every week, finally getting the nerve to get back in the ring and he goes down cleanly? At WrestleMania no less??? Okay... Rock seemed sorely underutilized tonight, but I guess that's what you get for shooting movies eleven months a year. Triple H/Michaels/Benoit was great, but the finish absolutely blowed here too. There was no resolution to the HHH/HBK feud, which has been THE storyline on Raw for like the past two years, and was the focal point of the build to the match. I also don't understand putting the title on Benoit. For one, the guy can't cut a promo to save his life and secondly, HBK has been the most over guy on the roster outside of Steve Austin. It seems as if it was just to appease the internet cynics that comprise (maybe) 20% of the fanbase. Onto the good stuff: Goldberg vs. Lesnar was awesome. Great finish and gave us a CLEAR winner. Awesome Stone Cold sendoff for both guys afterwards as well. Guerrero vs. Angle was the best match of the night, IMHO. Brilliant finish with the loose boot! The entrance area kicked ass. And that's all I've got to say about that. What?
*SPOILERS ALERT* i saw it. i have to disagree about the lesnar/goldberg match though. i thought it was pretty lame. the only thing worth watching about it was the crowd chanting "YOu sold out" and singing that Na nana song. i love the angle/guerrero match. definitely best of the night. i was surprised by the molly holly incident. didnt' really think she'd actually shave her head. i did like the return of the undertaker, didn't care too much for the match though. i agree with you on the thriple threat match.
Also have to disagree. Lesnar/Goldberg was awful; except for the ending. Which wasn't good perse, just incredibly strange. I think Lesnar was putting some real emotion into his send off to the crowd. Main event was awesome, Eddie/Angle started slow but loved the finish, Rock and Sock solid, Cena rocks.... Overall a little disappointing, but with some strong moments. Anti: I'm not sure but I think Benoit's rise is a little more than internet strong. Did you hear the crowd? They were booing HBK whenever it looked like he would win. They wanted Benoit. I thought Benoit would be a slightly harder sell, but he sure was over tonight. And the ending between him and HHH was perfectly done.
triple H must not be getting enough exercise with Stephanie b/c he's starting to look bloated. also, he must be going to the same tanning salon as Charlize Theron. real orange. anyone else notice that?
Haha. I love seeing Nunzio getting thrown around. Still disagree, though. If it was true, they'd have wanted HBK just as easily. You really thought the Lesnar/Goldberg match was good, though? Even though they stared at each other and grappled for like the first 70% of it? Its a bad sign when the "THIS MATCH SUCKS" and "BORING" chants hit full stride.
Well, Mick and Rock had to lose. Both are leaving within a month. So you have to put over the talent that is staying.
Yeah, the whole staredown thing went on way too long and the chants where justified, but after that, they wrestled a classic old-school "power" match. I also found it extremely entertaining as it was one of the few matches where the outcome was up in the air - you had Goldberg leaving which led many to think he was going to do the job, then there was the last-minute resignation of Brock and the whole uncertainty of that being legit or not.
Yep, They are redrawing everyone in the company. I don't remember if it will be on Smackdown or next week on RAW. But Vince cut a promo about how he was tired of some of the GM's Playing favorites with certain groups(and mentioned Evolution by name) He said everyone will be put in the lottery and drawn out. I am also pretty sure he included Austin and the GM's.
he also mentioned something about his relatives. maybe he was indiscretly refering to hhh. It's good I guess. I think there are way too many main eventers on raw, and not enough on smackdown.
yeah, like 87 time tag team champions the Dudley Boyz. damn belts don't mean anything anymore in wrestling.
