    Jesus....

There's some kind of breakdown going on in society somewhere. Parents aren't home, parents can't/won't/don't discipline their kids, schools can't/won't/don't discipline students. All because the kids can probably have them arrested for abuse or some such nonsense.

We're raising a generation of sycophantic, selfish, no discipline-having kids who really need to have their asses beat.

Not all kids are like this, certainly, but something is going on and it just ain't right.

Oh for ****'s sake...kid's an idiot, move on. A decade in prison?? How about the State of Georgia just launches him from a padded life-sized catapult?

And please cut the crap of "clever" posting. What the hell is a TeenAger? Is this poetry class? Why the hell do I feel like I'm forced to read crappy haikus all over again?

I guess I'm dumb but can someone explain the TeenAger thing. At first I was like oh, TeenAnger and was like "oh...cleverish" but then I realized there's no N so I assumed it was a typo.

The difference between these kind of kids today and those of yesterday are camera phones and youtube. They've always been around but we're more aware of them today due to technology.

There are some messed up kids out there, and there is also more access to technology to spread the message. Too many kids are being raised by stupid stuff on the internet.

On the other hand, there a many great teenagers out there also. I work with many thru a tutoring program at the HS my kids attend, and I am proud of both my boys. I just got back last week from a freshman registration at A&M, and I got to see many of the goods ones out there.

The good/great ones exist, you just have to be in places you can find them.

    Awesome comment.

Am I the only one who can tell that that child is MUCH younger than 8 months? It honestly looks about 3-4 months. I'm guessing it was a preemie.

    Disgusting.

If I'm that kid's father, I beat the tar out of him, then bring the deed to my house to the baby's parents. Much easier and faster that way.

Fatty: I agree. Much younger than 8 months.

    Why Young People Like Obama

Welcome to a secret view into the world of the net-generation. I love writing to you (maybe a little too much) so enjoy, stick around and be sure to tell me what you think...and, duh, get on my email list quick! (on the right, "subscribe via email"). Or subscribe to my RSS feed.

barack-obama-teens.JPGObama is creating a mass following of net-generation teen, pre-teen and millennial young people. Many parents ask me: Why do teens and young people love Obama? Here are the reasons I think that Obama strikes a strong chord with our generation.

**Please note, this is not an endorsement of Obama, just an explanation of this trend–I prefer to keep my own political opinions out of this blog, but thought it is an important issue to talk about!

    1) Obama is young

We like Obama because he does not feel as far away from our own reality as many of the other candidates. He feels young, he feels fresh and therefore he is relatable to us.

    2) Obama lets youth feel important

Talk about a grass roots campaign! Obama asks us, begs us, and gives incentives to youth for speaking out on his behalf because he tells us we matter! Many of my friends are practically begging to campaign for him and he makes us feel great about helping him. He thanks us and reinforces the importance of the young vote—we love feeling important.

    3) Obama pushes change, which feels like a challenge, which feels exciting

Obama constantly talks about change, new beginnings and his untainted background. We love be a part of something that is new, exciting and a little counter-revolutionary or daring, so we jump on his band wagon!

    4) Obama loves net-generation tools (the internet)

Obama is all over the web, he has YouTube videos, online platforms, chat rooms and a blog. Many other candidates have these as well, but Obama focused his campaign on the online community early and with full force. We love tackling and reading all of his online aspects and feel he is speaking to us in our language.

    5) Obama is good looking

Isn’t there some research done that the most attractive candidate always wins? Well, Obama has grasped the votes and hearts of many young women. Obama girl flaunts her crush on Obama and has a following of her own.

i don't know but there is a severe downward spiral, especially over the last 10-15 years. Hell, even after a few short years after H.S. I thought that there was a huge change.

a generation of immature cry babys and nancyboys.

    (1) Keep political stuff in the D&D.

    (2) Post a link when you rip off someone's else's material.

    Ding ding ding. Winner.

It starts at the earliest ages. Does the kid get the point that they run the household and their every fart is a gorgeous event, or does the kid learn that other people exist and have every bit as much right to respect as the kid herself/himself?

In so many households I see, it's the former.

    Really Old Cranky-sounding Guy

That made me angry. Didn't help that the news program showed it over and over. Wasn't once enough?

Put the kid in jail. He's safer there. If that was my baby, the teen would be dead by now.
