    Way to be racist.

Basically the cops on Austin are absolute douche nozzles regardless of what color you are.

He was a short guy too. Like a bad ass, he made sure to wave his flashlight at my eyes after I was already across the street.

Sounds like you just lucked out man, guy sounds like he was bored and in need of an ego boost. I was in Austin a few weekends ago with the wife and we were jaywalking left and right on 6th street.

I've heard from more than 1 cop that they don't like to mess with certain flavors and age groups of people, the generalization being is that these groups often don't cooperate with anything they say because they may feel entitled or get this, actually know they don't have to bend over for them.

Believe me, cops generalize more so than the most racist people around. In a way they have to, they have to assess situations with what they've seen. So if you want to think like one of them you'll have to get your hands a little dirty with some unsavory stuff.

Without even reading your story, bear in mind that a motorist would be in a world of hurt if he hit you, at the very least insurance-wise, so jaywalking laws make sense.

30 days of probation for a ticket like this means dont do anything stupid and it will be dismissed.

its not like you have to check in with a probation officer during your 30 day "sentence"

Yes, Groogrux if I remember correctly, and I'm not sure it was for the night. And I think it was for getting upset after getting the citation, but I could be wrong about the details. Had to suck though.

Yes it would. What could possibly go wrong from doing that?
