    I didn't really have an issue with his DUI arrest since that is due to his alcoholism and is very difficult to control. But this new immoral behavior is not really justifiable after having done considerable research into this issue. My impressionable nephews look up to Phelps as a leader and champion, so I think it would be appropriate for him to lose many if not all his endorsement deals. We need to consider the bigger picture here (wholesome American values) and not champion him as a hero just because he has won many gold medals.

    He's a human being like anyone else, and one that achieved an incredible amount of success at a very young age. His slip ups are his own.

    Why the **** do people insist that athletes be role models? He is free to do whatever he wants just like you. If you chose to look up to him because he's good at swimming, that's your mistake.

    You'd think people would have learned after the truth came out about how big of an ******* Jordan is.

    Admiring someone's ability to swim, shoot a basketball, throw a football, or whatever is all fine and good but, when you start using them as a morality compass you seriously need to pump your brakes.

    We're probably going to need a South Park episode dedicated to Michael Phelps to clarify such things for us.
