We beat them last year partly because of the torrid outside shooting by Michael J and Barry, and even Faints.
two nights in a row nash was out played by the opposing point guard. that probably won't happen too much but his defense is going to be a concern down the stretch.
They have gayed us so much and so bad this season that I'm actually kind of satisfied about their past two losses.
Suns' secret to success: (1) Shoot very efficiently and accurately from the outside (2) apply medium defense in the lane against teams (thus creating a "shootout" game, which the Suns will win if (1) holds true. If (1) does not happen, the Suns lose. If (1) and (2) don't happen, the Suns get blown out.
The Suns lost their Center, Kurt Thomas to injury about 5 weeks ago. Since then their D has gone down hill. Thomas, may not have put up big numbers, but he was their interior presence. Added to that they got Brian Grant back from injury about 1 week ago, he is still getting into game shape as he has been out since November. One game after they got Grant back Amare came back. I think we all know what has happened with Amare. The Suns are/were trying to work 3 players back into the rotation, I say 3 as Tim Thomas has only been with them for 3 weeks. This has put them back into a work in progress mode. Of the 3 players projected to play/relieve at the center position, they currently have only 1 and he has just come off injury. Amare probably will not be back this season, Kurt Thomas will be out until at least the 2nd round of the playoffs. The Suns have to pick up their individual D if they are not to continue their late season swoon.
