Well I guess I'm not following because I'm not sure what your point is. But I absolutely would because I think open carry is dumb as hell and I think gun laws should be much stricter. Ok?

When I read the thread title, first thing I though of was "I don't know of an Aurora, Ohio or Florida." I had put the CO thing out of my mind

Never understood guys walking around cities & businesses in open carry states with Ar-15's & then getting mad when Starbucks or Chipotles bans guns. Coming from a huge gun enthusiast, it's not necessary. You're just trying to flex your constitutional right by being a douchebag.

Now if some dumb ****ing citizen calls the cops on a concealed weapons carrier like me (which has happened) because they're "scared" of guns, then you're just an uneducated tard who doesn't understand the constitution. That also applies to open carrying a handgun.

Verdict; this kid's an attention w****.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.

"They reiterate they may be getting pulled away from other real, life-threatening situations."

Well we certainly don't want them distracted from issuing tickets for parking the wrong way on the curb.

Really, this is D&D stuff.

*I would have probably called the neighbor or the cops to get him off someone's lawn*

Perhaps poorly worded, but that part stood out to me as defining the stupidity of this.

Nothing to debate here, really, considering everyone agrees this kid is an idiot.

I don't even really understand the point he's trying to make. Honestly, I'm not even sure HE himself understands. If he had been shot dead on the scene by cops, people wouldn't have even known he was TRYING to make a point. The story would have been, "Cops Shoot Gun-Toting Teenager in Midst of Crime Spree" and people wouldn't have even thought twice of it. Moronic, irresponsible, and a complete waste of time.

I'm a pretty big second amendment advocate. I definitely think the media has put fear in the public when they see guns.

But this guy just seems like he's TRYING to make people uncomfortable. I get that you're trying to change the stereotype that gun holders are going to murder anyone. But a shotgun? Walking down the street? To protect yourself? I mean come on man, just be courteous to everyone else and carry a pistol.

I've never owned a gun, only shot a gun once in my life, but I respect his right to own and carry. It just seems like these people going into Chipotles and such are just trying to gain attention and are purposefully trying to scare people -- albeit to show that they have nothing to be scared about.

I think there are other ways to spread the message that guns are not the problem. People are, mental is, society is. America needs to look in the mirror and realize our moral fiber is breaking down. I'm not blaming it on gays, or anything like that. I'm talking about the good neighbor tight-nit community. It's all by the wayside now. I feel a lot of our problems could be solved by simply talking to each other, working with each other, stop distancing yourself from your neighbors, etc. If you see something wrong, or suspicious, or concerning, let someone know, don't ignore it.

That's how I feel at least. I still love this country and think we have it better than anyone else, but at the same time I think we're slipping, and we need to wake up before it's too late.

NRA approve. Such behavior only lead to less gun violence.
