Also, I would prefer to not have many jewels inside the face of the watch. I want the face to be aesthetic, not gaudy.
I disagree with you here -- there are many metal bands that work very well with a suit in an interview or any business situation. A Seiko with the classic Rolex look for just over a hundred on Overstock -- not my personal choice, but just a quick example of what is out there.
Did it cost you more then $150? I couldn't resist. Yeah, gotta agree and admit that a rectangular face with a leather strap is more suited for a suit and tie professional look. I guess I'm more of a casual guy and a stainless steel watch is more my look. I hate those gold and silver 2 toned watches. Feels like you're a retired cop or something when you wear it. Btw, Movados are for homos or metros.
Anybody know what watch Prez Putin always wears w/ his suits? I vaguely remember it looking really casual or even sporty maybe...
the MTG is not tacky on a business suit. IF you are worried about that then go for the MRG 8000 7500 7100
I like watches that are digital. I don't have the patience to read a regular watch hand. I learned to tell time at a later age than most people. Can someone suggest a classy digital watch for me?
you'll never get lost either. this is ingenius I think the OP might be interested in this, professional yet cheap
Invicta are interesting watches with the pricing -- they have the $150 Rolex lookalikes, some $500-1000 dollar random designs, then they have some crazy 2500.00 divers watches. I've never seen one in a store -- only online. I bought a mid level aviator style a while back and the quality is better than expected. The only issue for me is that the crown isn't as sturdy as I think it should be, but it hasn't been a problem. I really don't wear it all that often though so we'll see how it holds up.
I use a simple square shaped black faced Kenneth Cole watches with a black leather strap. Simple, cheap, sharp, and I get compliments on it pretty often even though it's seen much better days.
I have a Wenger which is the company that owns/ makes Swiss Army and the watch has been bullet proof. http://www.wenger.ch/Products/AeroGraph_Vintage/72479.html Kind of looks like this one without the smaller white timer.
Yeah not bad. Now my second concern is that this is a woman's watch. It doesn't bother me because it's a carbon copy of the men's watch but just smaller. It fits better because I have a small wrist. It's also the same price. I'm hoping nobody will stop me to notify me that this is a lady's watch. That shouldn't be a problem, right? As for the color, is that just based on preference or are there actual occasions where one color would suit better than another? I personally prefer the silver head and plan on wearing it on a daily basis. Do people see black as being more classy?
I think it is just personal preference on color, but I do think in this case the white face looks more like a lady's design than the same watch in black. I would go to a store and try one on instead of ordering online because some of the faces women's watches are much smaller and very obvious.
Growing up in poverty has had one effect on me through this process. Most of these watches look like the fake ones I saw growing up. So the watch might cost $1,500, but I see a cheap watch.
