    Mc B,
She's a former topless dancer, she used to be hot, but her dam lawyers took away her make-up for trial so she wouldn't look like a tart, then her her face broke out like a 16 year old.

She claimed she tied the dude up after she stabbed him because in her state of 'battered wife syndrome' she imagined he could still come after her. Some of the jurors said they found her story less than credible. The prosecutor claimed the 200K life insurance was the motive but I would guess she was just pissed off crazy, and probably 'battered at some point. Why would the guy let her ty him to the bed unless their relationship had some 'kinks'.

So guys when you go looking for love in a strip bar it might be wise to recall the classic Johnny Rvers song:

    The Snake
    Johnny Rivers

On her way to work one morning
Down a path alongside the lake
    A tender-hearted woman
    Saw a poor half-frozen snake
His pretty coloured skin had been
    All frosted with the dew
"Oh faith" she cried. "I'll take you in
And I'll take care of you."

    "Take me in, tender woman.
Take me in, for Heaven's sake.
    Take me in, tender woman,"
    Sighed the snake

Now she wrapped him up all cosy
    In a comforter of silk
And then laid him by the fireside
With some honey and some milk
She hurried home from work that night
    As soon as she arrived
She found that pretty snake she'd
    Taken in had been revived

    "Take me in, tender woman.
Take me in, for Heaven's sake.
    Take me in, tender woman."
    Sighed the snake

She clutched him to her bosom
    "You're so beautiful," she cried
"But if I hadn't brought you in
By now you might have died."
Well she stroked his pretty skin again
And then kissed and held him tight
    But, instead of saying "Thanks"
The snake gave her a vicious bite

    "Take me in, tender woman.
Take me in, for Heaven's sake.
    Take me in, tender woman."
    Sighed the snake

"I saved you," cried that woman
"And you've bitten me, but why?
You know your bite is poisonous
    And now I'm gonna die!"
    "Hah, shut up, silly woman,"
Said that reptile, with a grin
"You knew darned well I was a snake,
    Before you took me in."

"Aw, take me in, tender woman.
Take me in, for Heaven's sake.
    Take me in, tender woman."
    Sighed the snake
    Sighed the snake
    Sighed the snake
"Aw, you better take me in, tender woman,"
    Sighed the snake

ok so what makes Karla Faye Tucker's crime worthy of death but not Susan Wright's?

i'm not a proponent of the death penalty at all...but i think karla faye's crime did not leave any room open for self-defense arguments. i think she killed multiple people just for the fun of it.

Karla Faye was wasted though, and there didn't appear to be any premeditation. She was there to steal a motorcycle, and when the robbery failed, her boyfriend killed the bike's owner. The bike's owner had just beaten Karla's good friend, and he was already in bed with some other woman. Karla jumped into the fray and killed this woman laying next to the bike's owner. It was surely just as gruesome as Wright's murder, but it sure seems that more drugs were involved with Karla, and it didn't have the appearance of premeditation. All in all, I'm not sure that one is more deserving (of the death penalty) than the other.

So, that's...what...a month and a half for each stabbing? If she would have only stabbed him 2 or 3 times, she'd be out in time for Christmas...

drugs and alcohol are never mitigating factors in a murder trial for a defendant....a pattern of continued abuse by the victim to the defendant is.

(i'm not a criminal attorney..i just play one on tv)

Isn't premeditation usually a prerequisite for captial punishment though?

(I slept in a Holiday Inn Express last night)

    i don't know....i truly don't know enough about it.

i'm thinking the sentencing is sort of a totality of the circumstances type thing...wright's claims of self-defense because she was abused for so long may have been helpful at sentencing...remember, her defense team was asserting that it justified merely probation for this.

but it's hard to sell, "we shouldn't punish this one as harshly because she was tripped out on drugs when she tried to steal the bike and then killed the guy."

    also...different times...different juries.

I actually went on a date with her. My buddy and I doubled and he ended up marrying her sister. We saw the movie Scream. She never called me after that...guess I was lucky.

ac, that's so creepy, and I believe you for some reason.

But you might have been more lucky...

Maybe you only rated an 87 on the stab-o-meter.
