I have a goal... that goal is to turn this thread into the longest in the history of Clutchcity.net. ANYBODY WITH ME?!?! Sting... what tag team was he a member of and who was his partner? <HINT> His tag member on that team was a former WWF World Heavyweight Champion. ------------------ <this space for rent>
DoD: I remember Sting when he was in the UWF. He was known as Sting, and his partners name was Rock. Together, they were known as the Bladerunners. Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers were also in the UWF; they were the Fantastics. ------------------ I need a new signature. 302
Mango, you got that one right, good job. When I was in 5th-6th grade, I was a Mid-South, World-Class Wrestling junkie. I loved the WWF as well, but it wasn't as accessible back then...they'd never show the stars on TV, you had to go to the arenas to see them. They began showing the NWA on TBS during that time as well, and I loved it, too. I haven't liked wrestling since that time, but it sure does bring back some memories. By the way, it's fake, in case you didn't know. An easy Mid-South trivia question: There were two wrestlers with the nickname 'Hacksaw' in the Mid-South, can you name them (one should be obvious)? ------------------
Hacksaw Jim Duggan (Hooooo!!!) Hacksaw Butch Reid (You gotta pay the cause to be the boss!) ------------------ <this space for rent>
Lynus gets a cookie. Damn. I didn't think anybody'd get that one. LOL! There were 2 wrestlers in a battle royal (if i remember correctly). One collapsed/fainted and stopped breathing. The other gave him CPR. Name the 2 wrestlers. ------------------ <this space for rent>
I used to like Wrestling when I was 13, 14, 15 and maybe even 16 . Hulk Hogan was a "good guy " back then and if I remember correctly the WWF was the main wrestling company out there, the other ones were all small companies or "federations" as they may try calling themselves. Now being 31 yrs old I have been away too long and no longer enjoy it because I cannot get over the fact that it is nothing but a stupid fake ass soap opera .... yes , SOAP OPERA I SAID ! that's all it is to me, it insults my intelligence and I cannot believe I used to watch it back then... it makes me think or wonder that maybe as a teen I was dumb or something ???? ------------------ Thanks Hakeem for all the memories and the 2 championships... The torch has been passed... Francis , the making of brand new great memories for us rocket fans !
I'm a huge wrestling fan, and I have never had a problem referring to wrestling as a "soap opera." I've always described it as a soap opera for guys. Anyway, I've been reading several wrestling insider web sites for the last few years, and as a result, I usually know what will happen before it happens. Some might wonder what the point of doing that is, but I like it that way. I like to know about all the possible scenarios and story lines and how they will play out. Several story lines have to be changed at the last minute due to real injuries, and some story lines happen due to real conflicts between wrestlers. It makes for interesting reading, anyway. By the way, Stone Cold should be back within the next 4 months, and the Undertaker is set to make his return next Monday on RAW. ------------------ I need a new signature. 302
Wrestling is fake...but who cares? I dont. I mean, honestly...It's only entertainment, and the only people who thing its real are kids under the age of 10. Jeezus. Don't act like we are brainless just because we find pro-wrestling entertaining. That being said, how many of you are going to be in the Astrodome for WM next year? ------------------ COME BACK CHARLES!

Even in Germany, Wrestling is pretty big. I used to be a fan 10 years ago, when things started to develop and the public´s interest increased. I saw nearly all of the great WWF wrestlers...Hogan, Bret Hart, Hacksaw, Flair, Yokuzuna, Shawn Michaels, Rody Piper...it was a great experience, but I don´t care about it any longer. I started to like the NBA instead, although my interest has decreased, too 4/5/90 --> Wrestlemania VII ? Anyone remember? The Ultimate Warrior returned to help Hulk Hogan against Sid Justice! Johannes PS: You can´t imagine what it meant for a 13 ear-old to touch the Hitman!!! ------------------ What do you expect from someone who beats up his fiancee?
amongst other things jovi.... ------------------ Now, now. Personal pissing contests strictly prohibited. Thank you, come again. [This message has been edited by BrianKagy (edited April 07, 2000).]
DoD: You are correct of course. Don't know the answer to your question. Who was the "Nature Boy" of the Mid-South? hint: not Ric Flair ------------------
yeah an enema from the jokeshops that are unfortunately populating this board recently...I rest my case arguing the pros and cons of wrestling(wrestling? jesus people are you serious?) and similar topics that to me are no brainers....whats the point? I thought maybe i could have some intelligent dialogue somewhere along the line..and at times there has been....thank you for that....yet I may be arrogant by saying this but I dont really care to associate with people that enjoy wrestling...sorry not my cup o tea...you guys have fun bashing each other with plastic chairs and fake blood and weak arguments in latin or whatever else dead language you so choose(try middle english..you f**king chaucer wannabe)...hahahahaha.... peace out and good bye... ------------------
...and my weekend starts off good. ------------------ Is it any coincidence that we are the only NBA (sorry for any confusion regarding my earlier signature, I do realize that the Braves and Stars are both mentioned in the national anthem) team mentioned in the national anthem? I didn't think so!
At first, reading Sirhangover's ignorant posts made me angry. But after he posted some more, I realized sane, rational individuals like most of us on this fine board would be wasting our time and energy to retaliate to his utterly idiotic comments. I'm actually starting to feel sorry for the guy and his arrogance, ignoranace and lack of respect to the other fine posters. I extend my sympathy to him because I cannot believe someone's mind could be so closed and his heart could be filled with so much hate. The fact that he percieves people who watch wrestling or who are not American citizens as below him just demonstrates his cowardice. Of course, maybe he is an entirely different guy in person, he may be poite, sincere and open-minded. But we can only judge by what we've read through these threads. Azim, I have to agree. I remember when it almost seemed real when I was a kid. Then it turned comical. Now it's comical and full of sexual references. That stuff they're doing with that ol' lady (Mae Lynn?) and Mark Henry on the WWF is downright disgusting. (Somewhere, Paul Boesch is smiling down on this thread... either that or laughing hysterically... lol!) ------------------ <this space for rent>
