Last time I watched wrestling, the Ultimate Warrior was the champ. Did see Hulk wrestle Mr. Wonderful at the summit. 20 years...
It wouldn't be a great technical match (Hogan's never are), but the fan reaction would be off the charts. We're talking about the two most popular names of all-time. It's a shame Austin refuses to work with him.
I rarely watch wrestling, but I am strangely compelled to go to WM next year. If I can get tickets in the club level, I am there.
WM 17 was one of the best ever b/c of it's content, not just b/c it was in Houston. Say what you want about wrestling, but WM in Houston is a huge deal. i don't care so much for it anymore but i'd love to get tickets to the show.
Austin has good reason, though. Hogan was about the biggest cancer and lockerroom politician in history wrestling. (he makes Triple H look like a 2 year child) I can think a few instances where he was not willing to drop the title, or drop cleanly. *Remember twice in WCW, where he didn't job cleanly to Sting and once against Goldberg. There was the silly Jeff Jarrett match....Hogan was one of the few reasons that WCW died. * Another when he was mentioning Stone Cold's popularity, in way he implied it was sort of flash in the pan. And also, I think his politics played part in why SC left WCW and later WWF (02 or 03). *He didn't want to drop the title to Bret Hart, because he thought he was too small and not a valid champion...even though Hart had already been the world champion and put alot of great matches. *The first Survivor Series winner was supposed to be Mr. Perfect *Hogan was rarely a great worker, you never saw his matches go above 25 to 30 minutes...those were on great night...." *During the steroid controversy in the early 90s, he had to testify against Vince McMahon, he lied and pretty much saved Vince McMahon. McMahon comes out and says after the trial is over with that your hero just lied to you or something to that effect." This is only the tip of the ice berg, he is great all time performer....but Wrestling has alot of show-business quality, it does have people trying to climb the ladder unethical ways and scheming to hold on their position....and even with degree of difficulty the matches and high risk for injuries....your skill actually might not be help you be successful.
oohhh yeaaa........ <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lkzx_ZfO-xY&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lkzx_ZfO-xY&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> i don't really follow wrestling as much as i did before, but I AM HYPED UP FOR THIS. The last time I followed it was probably 3-4 years ago, but hell, Wrestlemania is a big deal.. and I'll be there.
I have to admit, I tuned into RAW for the first time in a while tonight to see Flair. The ending to that show was great. Awesome to see the Four Horsemen, Ricky Steamboat, and some of the other guys that have had great feud's with the Nature Boy. Reminded me of my childhood and watching pro wrestling with my grandma, who loved to hate Ric Flair. She was the biggest pro wrestling fan I knew and couldn't stand Ric Flair because of his womanizing persona and dirty tactics in the ring.
not sure which thread to bump, so i picked this one. who has tickets, and is going to the big show on Sunday evening at Reliant? who is going to axxess? who is going to the hall of fame saturday night at the TC? and who is going to raw on monday? im going to all four
Offtopic, but I heard that next year the rock will return to wrestle john cena in the main event at wrestlemania.
just rumored, Cena "challenged" The Rock next year, something just to stir it up all 4 event should be awesome, wanted to do Smackdown also, but its just going to be a "taping", not an actual show btw, the lovely Maryse will be at Best Buy in Pasadena on Friday Spoiler smooooooookin.....
I'll be there. I need to check my tix to see where. I'm taking my girl. We figure at the least, it should be a good show. Plus, she's excited to see Kid Rock perform a few songs. Usually the best part of these is the weirdos in the crowd, although most are normal people, I'd say 2 out of ten are out of their freakin mind. Makes me want to start a thread with just insane wrestling fans, lol.
