Are you kidding? I loved the first half.

I always love when my team is winning.

to be fair to Jungie, he admitted before neither Yao nor Steve would become great players and carry this team to a championship. but what puzzles me is why he would trade Yao for a true low post threat but not Steve for a better point guard. I know great centers don't need true point guards to be great. but you can't deny that a true point guard can make Yao and therefore our Rockets better. now assuming that trading Yao for a true low post threat like Eric Dampier would make Rockets a better team as well. any reasons why you would take Yao trade over Steve trade, Jungie except that you dislike Yao?

I don't plan on making a habit out of defending Juugie here, but I think that's his point exactly. Yao has neither the desire nor the aggression to be the dominant leader of a team, at least for right now. And there's nothing wrong with saying so, unless you just wait until he has a bad game to repeatedly point out how you're right...

That said, Yao played great in the first half tonight. I'm going to pretend he sat out the entire second with a phantom injury. But during the first two quarters, I can't remember the last time I saw Yao play with so much energy, especially around the glass. He didn't rebound much, but he was active and he was jumping quickly, like he actually had a sense of urgency this time around.

    1) Juugie hate Yao or at least don't like Yao. We don't have to waste time to debate on that.
    2) We won tonight, I'm happy. let's cut the "Steve and Yao who is good crap", let's enjoy.

    Happy new Year, Juugie.

U really think Yao can dominate if he's such desire? Honestly, I dont think Yao is ready to lead this team not to mention to dominate the league. How can u dominate if u cant play 30 effective mins? Until he improves his stamina and altheticism, he can never dominate the game. SF is the leader period. But does it mean that the offense has to run through the leader? About yao's energy tonight. U have to consider how shaq defend him. One on one and no fronting and no one expect yao to bang with shaq down low. That's the game yao loves. But he needs to adjust his game this season to fit in the team's best interest, that's the inside out game.

So let SF be the leader and let yao improves his weaknesses and let the team plays the game in JVG's system?

that one guarding Yao is Shaq! He would never need another laker to help him guard anyone today.

SF played a balanced game, and our shooting miralcally got back at the end. SF, JJ, Cat, Mo, and Cato all did pretty well tonight. It was a team win.

Yao was spetacular in the first half. I think the whole team should watch the tape of this game later and learn what they did right in the first half. The pick-n-rolls are great, and maybe we can start seeing it more often from now on. We can use Yao more often in the high post, just like how Kings use Divac and Miller. Yao has the range, as good as any 7-footers, except Dirk (and maybe KG). And if our players run the floor like Kings, Yao can pass as Miller or Divac. One thing we learned tonight is that when Yao is exhausted, we should not put him in a position that he has to go for the hook shots.

Banging against Shaq for 30 minutes is a lot, not to mention Yao set 60% of the picks on this team, and that involves a lot of run-n-stop and collision.

See--> minutes and where they were drafted and the teams they played for. Just because they are 18 years of age doesn't mean all things are equal.

I really don't know why I keep replying to you... its getting old.

    Ok, no more.

I've said time and time again, I don't hate Yao. But I totally disagree with those who think the Rockets should throw it down low to Yao every time and let him carry us to a championship.

Last night was a perfect example of how to use him. Let Steve create for him, not the other way around. And by having him outside, it opened up so many lanes to drive.

It got everyone going. Let's hope JVG lets them keep it up.

And Steve's excellent game yesterday means you won't criticise him anymore too, right?

Sometimes comparing apples and oranges won't get you too far. LeBron is a guard and Yao is a center. There have been tons of guard in basketball that had much superior skills than big guys. Only those who wins championships got in the history book: Jordan and Magic. Let's wait till LeBron actually wins a ring to talk about how much apple is better than orange.

But it may need your one more reply to tell us what you think now ...

Haha he lost all credibility now by saying Shaq would eat Yao for lunch. It was a draw!!! Both had great first halfs and not so good second halfs. Yao with only 2 points due to foul trouble and O'neal didn't do much better with only 6 points.

Why any of you bother to respond to trolls like Juugie is beyond me. When the dude wanted to trade Yao for Erick Dampier, that was more than enough for me to know not to waste my time talking to him, lol.
