There used to be Apartheid in the US. Black people had to ride the bus and sit in the back. White people rode in the front. There were bathrooms for blacks labled colored and bathrooms for whites. There were separate schools. There were separate drinking fountains. It was a prejuidiced time in US history.
Im glad that Yao is sticking up for himself, but he has to balance it and not contest EVERY SINGLE CALL! (even if all of the are right) He has to pick and choose which calls to contest so that the refs over time know that if he contests a call, that they probably got it wrong. In the long run, that MIGHT get him some more respect and decisions with the refs. But complaining about EVERY call will only further make it harder for him. Obviously sending tape to the league hasn't helped over the years either. I made a suggestion before that Rick just tells Yao and Scola to play hard and don't care about fouls. Then Rick should just play them their normal minutes regardless of how many fouls they pick up, even if THEY FOUL OUT IN THE FIRST QUARTER! Do this strategy for a few games, and if Luis and Yao are fouling out by halftime in a couple of games, or before the fourth quarter, and BAM! You will have the issue on all the sports talk shows. They will start showing all the replays and good and bad calls. Almost 1 billion chinese fans will get more pissed and the NBA will start to feel the pressure. Eventually enough public pressure will make them clean it up. THAT'S THE ONLY WAY THIS IS GOING TO CHANGE IN THE NEAR FUTURE! (so what if we lose another few games because of it, we are losing anyway. At least it will get us ready to have respectable calls if we make the playoffs)
Yao thought we played without passion and energy? He has to be talking about himself in the 2nd Half. A lot of those rebounds he only took a halfhearted swipe at. He didn't even put up his hands to jump after the ball. One time, the rebound came right at his head and he just stood there and let T-Mac rebound it over him.
If someone put his hands over your arms getting no call, you will find it's not possible to put up your hands.
Hey RAT Yao says keep your love to yourself. I don't want to call anyone an idiot but anyone who thinks yao is whining too much is just not very bright. What Yao is doing is called working the refs. This is the first year he's done it with any consistency. He does it less than most and unlike Duncan and Kobe and many other superstars who complain on almost every call, Yao almost always has a legitimate beef. I'm glad he is doing it. All these years of being the quiet accepting sort has gotten him no where. It's sad that he has to resort to such tactics to get a decent game called for him but it's time to fight back. Adelman is helping him on the sidelines but that is not enough. Yao has to help as well. If he keeps it up maybe the refs will get how to call him. By the way I don't think the refs are deliberately making bad calls it's just that Yao is the most difficult player to ref. The refs are watching the ball which because of Yao's height is much higher than where most of the fouls are occurring. Yao has to educate these refs where to look.
Yao is a warrior. He has too much pride in himself to stay in the NBA and keep fighting the odds, unlike you coward who would run away from challenges.
The reason Yao is popular in China is probably because he is able to mix it up with the bigs in America. I don't see Yao doing a V-Span wussy move like that, because he's got too much honor. I understand that Yao was pissed, but that was a poor move drawing the technical so late in the game. He probably feels really bad about it. I hope that when he comes back wednesday he will answer with fury.
Yes. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZgWsVSresgg&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZgWsVSresgg&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZgWsVSresgg
Seriously, why would he go back to china. I don't think anyone is as wussy as vspace first of all. Second of all who would leave millions and millions of dollar alone and go back to china to play for a sub standard league where nobody cares? Stop making threads like this it's just plain stupid.
Sorry, no referee deserves that even when he or she sucks. I know the guy got suspended, but any criminal charges?
I disagree. I'm glad Yao is complaining all the time. Back when the crappy disrespectful calls were happening in his 2nd and 3rd seasons, he would not complain at all, and that didn't help. I think if Yao keeps this up, he will start to get more respect. I've been saying all year that Yao gets no respect from the referees. Sure was great to here Gene Peterson say the same thing in the 4th quarter of the Kings game last night.
Oh,pardon me!it did happen? if so ,I am not so surprise to what yao did last night.when he did,he did. I will take this as nothing. All I wanna get is a team and fair game.Be a man,yao and you guys, even the refs.
Refereeing this year has been horrid. They (NBA officials) should tell the refs 1 simple thing. If you don't see it, don't call it. If you do see it, DO call it. NBA refs do WAY WAY WAY too much assuming. the result. they call a bunch of fouls that aren't fouls, and swallow their whistles when there really are fouls (as they assume there shouldn't be). This is such a simple and logical concept, it's mind-boggling they are so bad at it. If the Rockets aren't getting screwed, the other team usually is. The game is ref'd all wrong.
