how about a Flagrant next time? Yao needs to get mean, he needs to start throwing his elbows, and he needs to foul hard. He should've punch Udrih in the face in the last play since the foul's coming no matter what. Refs are lookin to give Yao the sixth foul.

Yeah, me too. I am going to keep this game, because this may just be THE game Yao finally breaks out of his "niceness". I want to see more blood around him. I want to see him smash a couple of eye sockets. One of the reasons Shaq was so dominant was few players dare get close to him when he rebounded, or about to dunk. Even Mutombo got more respect than Yao because of Deke's sharp elbows.

YAO, I REPEAT, GIVE the MIDGETS some elbows, break their eye sockets, nose, jaws, whatever.

Udrih did get Yao to foul on that last play. Yao left his feet and Udrih caused the touch contact and got the foul. Same crap that Reggie Miller use to pull all the time.

Scrubs aren't supposed to get calls like that late in the game over your leagues star players. But really he jumped into Yao and they were supposed to award the big guy's those calls this season whne the man jumps into you as long as you go staright up hand up there is no call.

You know it is a Yao thread when I can't understand half of the posts and a lot of the other half are posts saying that Yao is bigger than the NBA.

Yao can't win. When Miller drove into him, Yao fell backwards but didn't get the call. When Yao goes up, he's supposed to be allowed his space if he goes straight up. But nope, refs call him for a block.

Don't you get it Yao?? Go back to China. They hate you here.

You guys are right. Yao is screwed either way. The NBA supposedly said that they were gonna give him to the space he is entitled to when he goes straight up in the air, but that hasn't happened.

The alternative? If they're gonna call a foul on you might as well get your money's worth. Take a couple of guys out (a good candidate would be Devin Harris), start throwing elbows, and push a couple of people if you have to so that the NBA, its refs, other players, and the world will stop buying into your undeserved reputation as a soft player.

Yao Ming needs to become mean. Yao Ming needs to become an enforcer.

But Yao was not trying to foul he was actually trying to play defense, something that not even Artest a good defender, was trying to do, with all that flopping.

Yeah, there is alot of overreaction in here, but then again Yao has been jobbed by the refs repeatedly. I only wish this had happened a year earlier, plus a couple of hard fouls to adventurous guards.

I think if Yao take out Harris the whole NBA fans (other than Dallas fans) will make Yao a hero. they all hate D. Harris.

I think it is immature to hope that Yao hurts other players. It is, after all, only a game and these men are trying to make a living doing it.

Besides, it would be *much* easier for others to take out Yao than for Yao to take out others.

I like the emotion by Yao, nice change.

He should also read this book:

Hakeem went through a lot of similar stuff back in the day, this book will show Yao how to adjust to the NBA's big men refing.

I read the book over ten years ago while I was only a middle schooler so not all the stuff are there, but a couple of things I remember was:

Hakeem had refs straight up telling him they're not gonna call some fouls on him because he should be strong enough to finish anyways.

He decked a guy in the face with his elbow because the other player was playing dirty and getting away with it while he was getting ticky-tack fouls. Suprsingly, he got away with it because the miss the flagrant foul.

The bottom line is YAO has to play tougher. As a 7-6 center, he needs to earn respects with your elbows, man!

I was hoping Yao got a technical after he got fouled out. When they said he got ejected, I was even happier. I have been waiting all season for this from Yao. I've been waiting for the refs to use that bull**** rule about letting big men jump straight up and attempt to block shots. The NBA might as well take the blocked shot out of the stat sheets. Either its a foul or goal tend these days if your name isn't Dwight Howard.

But I hope the league looks at this game, and look at the ridiculous calls the refs made tonight. I saw 3 legit fouls, maybe a 4th one. But the last one on Udrih, was just terrible. Any other superstar gets that call with 3 minutes left in a 5 point game. If it was Kobe, Lebron, or D Wade driving to the basket, then maybe I would understand, because they take the contact when driving to the lane AND they are SUPERSTARS just like Yao is a SUPERSTAR. Why the hell doesn't he get those calls against Udrih!!!???

The refs need to go and study tape of Shaq in the 90's and see how officials learned to officiate him. I know reffing a game is not easy, but tonight was just out right terrible. If it takes Yao getting a tech every game, or a few ejections here and there, then so be it. And if that don't work, then become an enforcer like Shaq did. He wasn't the greatest of defenders or shot blockers, but he fouls hard any time you go to the basket. Therefore players were afraid of getting hurt. I'm not a fan of playing dirty, but if thats what it takes for Yao to play effective defense, then hurt every mother******* player that comes into "your house". I hope tonight will change Yao's demeanor.

Its just like getting a girl back in high school, "Nice guys never win." The same could be said for Yao when it comes to getting calls in the NBA. Nice guys won't win the officials respect, so Yao has to go out and take the respect that he rightfully deserves!
