Bye Luther. Must we weird to suddenly be waived by a team you've been with for years. He was probably mentally prepared somewhat, since he's been traded in rumors the last few. But what is the protocol for clearing out? I guess they gave him the pink slip when the team was out of town. That way the waived guy can show up and clear out his locker without any strange uncomfortable goodbye moments among teammates, friends with him or not.
If he only hand handles he would be helping this team out. I mean seriously your a PG in college and never developed handles? Or am I wrong and he was just a catch and shoot guy in college as well? I'll remember the little dunks he had and some clutch 3's but that's about it. Oh and all the Head jokes will be missed (not really).
I think so too, they are moving out parts of the team that were not convincing anyone for now or the future. While Head was still young, I believe he was not part of the vision Morey has for the Rockets. Using his roster spot in another project seems nice to me. We have a strong core in Brooks - Lowry - Landry - Scola - Yao.
And Hayes and Mutumbo...oops. Oh but I forgot, can we even call Head a JVG player? As was pointed out, by you, many times, JVG hates rookies and tried to hold them back.
I wouldn't be surprised if Luther asked for the waiver. He knows he won't get PT on this team and that he will not be re-signed in the offseason. Elsewhere, there's a chance to contribute and earn the next contract.
And Yao is the only Rudy time player left. Sometimes I felt sad about this and then I realized the Rockets just need to move on (to the right direction).
more like morey is trying to add good role players and more talent to the team. something jvg's teams always lacked because of poor management decisions. but you'll probably still believe in your theory that it was jvg who was adding low cost players with limited talents to the team just to prove his point to you.
Battier was Morey's guy. His first move under the assistant GM role. Morey is just doing what best for the Rockets, just like JVG did when he was here.
I hope Head gets some time somewhere. I know it's nothing big, but he was still cheering the team on in a suit knowing he might never play as a Rocket again. I hope to see him playing again somewhere.
