this is all my opinion. I have enjoyed video games for 20 years and find this to be the most unappealing thing I have ever seen. To each his own.

To this day, the N64 controller remains my favorite of any controller I ever used. I got used to the Gamecube one, but still prefer the N64.

brentdapmp, that's the worst post in the history of the world.

wow guess I should apologize for posting my opinion, huh. I am surprised to see others that like the idea so far you are the first I have come across.

BTW the 360 controller is the best controller to ever be invented.

The 360 controller is pretty solid, I've found. I haven't used it extensively enough yet, but I plan to.

The Revolution controller is getting more good opinions than anything Nintendo has done for a long time. That you have been 'around gaming' for 20 years and have no idea about that is a little surprising.

well considering I have no interest in the revolution as their games tend to cater to the more adolecent gamers is why I have not heard or read any reviews on the controller. And let me put it to you like this when I bought my first nintendo it came with two games on one cartridge duck hunt/gyromite and came with a robot that you could use to play gyromite with. I am almost 27 and bought the system when I was 5. I have owned every system except for neo geo and the jaguar. I know my gaming and just don't like the concept.

Well, I guess that would explain why you haven't 'come across' anyone that likes it then, hmm? :p

And how many Revolution games have you played so far again?

As many as you have. But it is not a secret nintendo caters to the younger crowd. That is why last generation I played the PS2 & xbox while my son had a gamecube.

But yeah that and the fact I do not trust ANY review is why I have not seen anything positive about it yet. I just discuss these things with my friends, etc. We just do not like the idea, and think it looks gimmicky. But again to each his own and if you like the idea then they have succeeded in making you interested in their product which is their ultimate goal. I have not been a fan of Nintendo in recent years but I really like the fact the revolution will only cost around $250. That way I can buy one for my son. It is true I hold somewhat of a grudge against Nintendo as I loved them (the original Legend of Zelda, Killer Instinct, and Goldeneye are still in my top 10 games of all time) when I was young but after the 64 IMO they never really progressed. They kept into their target demographic and never tried to cator to the huge Nintendo fans that were groing up and didn't want 100 different Mario games.

I concur... I was pretty unhappy with no shoulder buttons (Black/White) on the original XBox controllers, but they were dead on with the 360's controller design.

Unless we're talking about Pooh's Big Adventure or Rugrats, the idea of video games 'catering to the younger crowd' is not correct, IMO.

What Nintendo does do, however, is cater to as many people as possible. Mario, because it is a Mario game, is not 'for kids'. It's a video game. And if they are good video games they are good video games.

I have never understood why people suddenly feel ashamed about playing something that is just a balanced video game. I'd like to think most gamers should be able to play Mario Kart, play a little Grand Theft Auto the next day and fire up Oblivion a little later. If it's good, it's good.

I think if people judge that way -and they call themselves gamers - they are missing out on some great content...and I'm not even talking about just Nintendo games.

Hell, I feel bad for people who've never played a Ratchet and Clank game because they think it's 'kiddie'.

Good post. Even more, it's not like Nintendo doesn't have solid "non-kiddie" games themselves...Metroid is a good example.

With costs as a factor, though, many people have to make one choice or the other in regards to consoles. But there is no reason to sterotype one console as adult and another as kiddie, or one as awesome and another as horrible just because you don't have enough money/aren't willing to spring for all the consoles and play everything that is good.

With Nintendo pushing the pay-for-old-school gaming angle hard, I would not be surprised if they went on an RIAA-style campaign against rom sites/sharers.

Get 'em while they're hot! :D
