Actually not true. I'll give him the thighs, arms... Hell, the calves are all I've got on JJ Watt. I don't say it in a "you forgot leg day" type of way. That's silly. I'm not a bodybuilder and don't give a rat's ass about what size my legs are. I'm not faulting him. Still think his "abductors" look unnatural. That's why he's a freak athlete.
I'm not going to further derail this thread, but I agree with the genetics comment. I come from a family with giant calves. I was not bragging or trying to dis JJ. Carry on.
I will because it is so funny you think you have determined his calf size and compared it to your own.
I asked my wife if she saw this picture. She got all excited, and her only response was this: "Yeah! Did you see what his hand was holding?!? " She's an OR nurse at a trauma hospital, and sees gruesome injuries all the time. I just rolled my eyes at her and laughed.
I was clicking through random links yesterday and was reminded of this woman who was hit by a meteor ... Watt obviously was hit by an incoming asteroid, absorbed the impact, and saved humanity (please, no talk of "what happened to the pressure wave, then??" Take that stuff outta here) :
Yeah, and well, with hip power...calves just push the ankles down and help flex the knee. Not much power in those movements. Need good joint alignment too, to push into the ground at the best angles and "bounce" up.
