We have dally and now Camby, scola patterson, lee Martin, Lowry dragic and fisher. It seems to me that alone is pretty solid, maybe not the Heat..(or any other big-three/two team) but pretty solid all around. My thought is that if Chandler continues to progress I am excited for the playoffs this year. This team is deep, and now has a solid front court...look out!
Lowry/Dragic/Fisher Martin/Lee/Williams Parsons/CBud/Morris Scola/Patterson Dalembert/Camby/Smith For once I think we are solid at every position
Yeah I agree with that having Camby at the 5 will help alot with the rotation and everyone will be at the right spot for once. Fisher I know he had that dirty play on Scola in the playoffs but I see him giving advice to Lowry and Dragic. He could also provide some clutchness that we desperately need and could come in for stints at the 2 if he decides to give effort after being traded. All in all i thinks its a win for the trade deadline not a big win but we traded players that never played so i look forward to the rest of the season.
It's a pretty damn good team. Maybe not the names but strong all around. Parsons has a chance to be a star and the way he has progressed, who is to say he can't average 15PTA a game by May. Optimistic yes but hey I am a rockets fan. No matter what it's better than tanking!
Im actually real excited to see how much better Patterson will get not having to shoulder the load against the bigger post player on the opposing team now. -What I like the most about Chandler's evolution though is he now is getting to the point where he is allowed the freedom to be the main facilitator on offense. Everything is running so much more smooth now when put the ball in his hands, let him work off of a couple of screens to make the solid pass. This is why he was the SEC player of the year with Florida last year. This is how they ran their offense, and where he is at his best. The only thing is, he has gotten much better at finishing around the rim, and the more he improves his shooting and inside game, the more its going to open up everyone else for great open shots. He's no Lebron, but I am comfortable letting the offense run through him like he thinks he's Lebron.
The next couple of games or at least until Lowry and K-douche come back, should be interesting given were probably going to role with something like this... PG: Dragic - Williams SG: Lee - Budinger SF: Parsons - Morris PF: Scola - Patterson C: Sam - Camby - Smith
Pretty sure Williams will be waived and bought out sometime this week. Fisher will most likely get minutes if they cant arrange a buyout. Also they have reached out to Anthony Carter to come aboard on a 10 day contract possibly, and if worse comes to worst there is Mike Conroy with RGV who is serviceable at worst. Williams is gone. Bye.
Wow, I never knew that deep teams win NBA championships. If you stop and think about it, it's horribly untrue. A deep team gets you in the playoffs, but teams don't get run out of the playoffs for a lack of depth anymore. A good 8 man rotation wins you 7 game series ladies and gentlemen, especially since you rest 1-2 days after each game now. You just need those 2-3 players that could be starter on some non-playoff teams to give you situational minutes or defense that has an impact. Basically, the 9th and 10th man get so few minutes that playing them can do more harm than good unless they bring something specific like a 3 point or defensive specialist for a series matchup.
Cool, but to make it clear, there's a better chance that Fisher gets bought out, then T-Will getting waived. One has been reported(By Woj), the other is just your assumption (unless you have proof). If both happen then its whatever, no big deal, we can always pick up a pg out of the D-League. Okay, buddy
That's uncalled for and idiotic to post IMO. I wanted Kevin traded today but he has been a good Rocket and teammate in the locker room by most accounts. So why is he a douche? I'd prefer K-Soft or K-MiniMart since he plays so soft and small. But, K-Douche... yeah stfu quickly.
LOL "not sure if serious" but if you are here's my response: Cause he flops like a b**** and plays like one too!
I agree... it is a deep, balanced team with solid roleplayers for every conceivable role. Too bad we didn't manage to snag that one elite shot creator, such as Gasol or Al Jefferson. Plug a guy like that in at PF and we're a championship contender. As it is, we have a shot to make it past the first round, and that will have to be enough for now.
Lol half serious/half not. He seems to be a good guy, so just adopt one of mine, my personal petname for him is K-MiniMart because he literally is the smallest 6'7" NBA player you'll ever meet or defend. If anything I kinda feel bad for K-Mart.... he knows he is not "untouchable" as the precursor to one of his worst years in the league while dealing with the "Kevin Martin rule" that affects how he got 15% of his scoring. You did give me a good idea though.... Douche Howard, perhaps? That's WAY more fitting. But yeah, deep team doesn't mean you'll win multiple playoff games, it just means you'll be playing in some. How K-MiniMart/Scola/Lowry play will determine if we get to play in more than one series this year. Parsons just has to make 5 or so good/impactful plays every game and we'll take it.
Stop mentioning Fisher as if he's worth the paper you leave in the toilet. The dude is trash in every sense of the word. He can suck my balls. I hope he never wears Rockets Red.
I really don't know if that is true. Has anyone had a roster in the playoffs that could have accommodated a 10 man rotation? Seems like most teams have so much much money invested in 2 or 3 players that by the time they get to the 3rd or 4th person off the bench they are bringing in a below average talent. If you go 10 deep it allows you the luxury of yanking anyone whose energy level or shooting is not up to par for the night. It also would allow you to push the pace up to an point where the other teams big men are sucking wind. See what the coaches come up with.
I really like our players right now! Hoping we can resign Lee and Dragic, then trade our picks+kmart+twill for a high draft pick and finally get that superstar
