Thats the tournament I went to during his junior year. The Rice game was the game everybody was waiting for and he struggled. I heard Shagari Alleyne signed with Rutgers. I saw Carmelo there too, I knew he would be good but i never imagined a championship his freshman year.
if Ebi is available when we pick there is no excuse for not selecting him. the kid won't be ready to play for atleast a year while he works on his body and handles, but given time and guidance i really think he can be a stud. draft him and start a regimen for him, EG, and Yao...imagine how good they could potentially be in 3 years.
Ebi is going to get pushed around by college players, what do you think is going to happen to him in the pros. For comparison, Griffin dominated the Big East, and still gets dominated in the pros after 2 years. In short, Ebi is at least 3 years from being able to do anything in the pro level. I think if he stays in he will go late 1st at best as the team that takes him will have little immediate needs and can just wait and see if he pans out. I think he will pull out of the draft--but it could be my Arizona bias talking. I also only saw him 1 time--in the McD game--and it seemed there were a lot more players out there more physically ready for the NBA, and not just James.
If Ebi declares, I personally think he's making the right decision. He's currently considered to be the best high school player in the country behind 'Bron. You guys...this guy is for real. I met him at a WC game last December, and watched him play. He played strong, even though his arms look like whittled-down toothpicks. I kept seeing flashes of KG in my mind - call me crazy but this guy's a baller. If he declares with an agent and slips, the Rockets absolutely 100% need to nab him. He's young, talented and still growing. And has HEART.
I have said a lot on this guy but I dunno! The last thing we need is for our team to get younger! I would want the Rockets to pick him if he was to slip to the 2nd round! If he shows the dedication that he does in high school I would want the Rockets to pick him happily! All he needs to do is bulk up!!
6-9 and 205 lbs. That is hella skinny being that size. Eddie Griffin needs alot of bulking up to do as well. Hopefully he has been doing that this offseason. Ebi body type reminds me of Demarr Johnson of the Atlanta Hawks.
The guy that broke his neck and was out the whole season! Ndudi Ebi 2003 Recruiting Class Houston (TX) Westbury Christian Power forward Height: 6-foot-10 Weight: 195 pounds
Yeah that guy out of University of Cincinatti. He could be something special. I got 6-9 and 205 from your earlier post, so I don't know. No matter what, he's still really skinny!!
KG is who I think of as well, as his all-around game is superb. I don't think his slight frame is that big of a problem, since he's a SF who CAN PLAY INSIDE anyhow.
there was some guy, when i heard a radio review of that senior tournament/clinic that had a month of so ago that was from a very small college/uni, he was completely unheard of at the start and by the end they think he might go late first/early second, anyone know his name, apparently he was a bruiser with a K Malone type game.
QUICK QUESTION: back in the day the Celtics drafted "The Great One" (ie Bird) but he went back to ISU for his senior year and they held his rights. Is this still possible or does the new agreement not allow an NBA team to select a player's rights and hold them until said player graduates (no $ could be played to the player though, right?).
They got rid of that rule that year because Red drafted bird his junior knowing that bird wasn't coming out. Now the player actually has to declare to get drafted.
Nbadraft. net has this guy going in the 2nd round at the 33rd pick. But that is still not low enough for the Rox to grab him. Maybe the Rockets can still get him. I always love a good project.
