Isn''t my main man DA suppose to be the future backup for YAO. But I keep hearing how we need to draft Yao's replacement or get Camby. What happens to Andersen and his three year contract if those happen? Would this signing be declared a failure?

Gortat would have been better than DA, and he is doing well despite getting no PT in Orlando. This is his line per 36 minutes:

    9.7 points off 7.6 attempts
    11.0 rebounds
    2.5 blocked shots

I still think he would be the perfect backup C for Yao next year if we can get him without giving up much (maybe let Orly swap for a Knicks pick?).

    Now here's Andersen's line per 36 minutes:

14.8 points off 13.7 attempts (almost as bad as Ariza, yuck)
    8.4 rebounds
    0.5 blocked shots

I don't want DA to be hurt, but I would rather not see him on the floor. DNP-CD, please.

Would never wish that on a Rockets player that while not great, has contributed some for our team.

Andersen has promise, as a backup center that can spread the floor. He may need a little more time and may not be as good as Hill is looking getting rebounds or scoring in the post, but I wouldn't want to see Andersen buried on the bench for the rest of the season.

He needs minutes to develop his game into something we can use later on.

Scola has averaged > 43 mins the last 4 games while DA has been out. I dont think DA coming back will effect Hill's minutes as much as we think, but it'll balance out Scola's PT.

Man... you must be a pretty ****ty human being if you mean to wish injury on anyone or for them to continue being injured. Even as much as I detested T-Mac, I still wouldn't wish him harm and only wish him the best, just not in or against the Rockets.

...but I like Scola getting more minutes. He seems to somehow get better the longer you keep him on the floor.

No no, people don't want him injured, but they do want him to sit for Hill and I would agree. I also agree about Anderson's development, his game is where it's gonna stay except that his shooting % will increase. But we don't need a shooting big, we need a rebounding big who has a presence in the paint. This is extremely important to a team, it's something Anderson doesn't have whereas Hill has shown great promise in this area.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! the upside of Hill, and what us fans have seen esp. the last few games from the dude - and how about that comfort level he brings in with CBud on the floor?

    - but Anderson - (since he has largely stopped "looking out of breath and depressed" out there like earlier in the year) - had been recently "aggravating" people under the basket, and that seemed good for us to be able to do that (I recall Dwight Howard's tech. foul, despite his monster game that night).

David had been really competing and fighting for us, in the key of Scola and Landry before he was traded - maybe not as great, but getting there with a growing impact. David was even coming out to grab some 3s and hitting 'em (taking notes Brian Cook? Good riddance Brian Cook, that guy was so drenched in dork rain, but that complaint only echoes hundreds of posts before this one).

I've loved Davd's second half of the season effort, overall, and yeah, why not see RA throwing Hill and Anderson out there together a few times once Anderson's back. I think that would be intriguing even if it's just a very quick experiment.

No, because he is a big with range...something none of our other bigs have with the exception of Scola.

I like Hill getting some PT and playing well when he gets the call to go in, but Anderson is a good weapon to have when it comes to certain matchups.

I dont wish DA an extended injury but I do hope that the coaching staff sticks with playing Hill a lot more over DA even when he comes back.

DA while still a rookie is a much older one and has little to no room for growth at this point, we know his talents and we know what he can and cant do. Right now he is a liability defensively.

Hill has showed the team flashes of what could be a very good contributer in the last two games I would like to see the team build upon that.

DA can be a good role player for this team in select situations I believe thats why he was brought here to help stretch the floor, but without Yao he was depended on a lot more than he should have been.

Both guys bring a different, and much needed, skillset that we need. Both players are rookies in the league. You have to give them time to get a feel for the game at the NBA level and figure out how they can contribute. I don't know who expected DA to come in and be a starter this year. He has had some good games also, how soon some forget now that Hill has played ok in two games.

So, no, he should not be forgotten about just because Hill has two ok games. They both should get playing time as the situation permits. Hill will be used against more traditional PF/Cs that play in or near the paint. Let DA play against the finesse PF/Cs and also let him stretch the floor on offense.

DA brings softness and streaky shooting, not a good combination for a good 'skillset'
