[ X ] Maybe. Explain: Every time after his flop to draw a foul to his opponant, Mutumbo wags his middle finger.
Well the first 10 years he coachedthe jazz he didnt win any rings, but the last ten years he atleast won none also
No. I lost interest in the Astros (and baseball in general) when J.R. Richard had his stroke. I'm old. But what's your point? That two wrongs make a right? They don't. And cheating doesn't make one "good" or "great" at anything. Jerry Sloan is a blight on NBA basketball history and nothing could be better for the game than him leaving it forever. Also: this thread sucks.
I'll tell you "why so serious." I've been a basketball fan since I was very small. For most of those years the game has been compromised by a team of dirty cheaters who have been taught how to cheat by Sloan. It actually does make me mad. And hearing anyone call him good or great or suggest that they'd even entertain the idea of him working for The Rockets seriously makes me want to barf.
get over it... luis scola is a huuuge flopper. It happens. We should be able to beat them regardless. Shut up and stop bashing the man.
Flopping isn't even half of the problem with the Jazz. It's just gross to see them being babies on one end when they act like they're playing football on the other end. You're not going to have a lot of luck with Rockets fans or real basketball fans "getting over" that.
Nobody but nobody has done more with less over 20 years than Jerry Sloan. His teams consistently overachieve. Can you imagine how many championships he'd have won with a decent GM at his side? Put Daryl Morey next to Jerry Sloan, and in 5 years you have rings. How much is your tribal hatred worth?
There are better ways to torture yourself: a) Cut your balls off in slow motion with a broken glass bottle dipped in salt and red pepper. b) Watch ALL TV programs and movies with Clyde commentary for the rest of your life. c) Get married to Salma Hayek with lifetime guaranteed chastity belt. d) All of the above. I would consider Sloan coaching the Rockets only if he came in a package deal with Andrea Kirilenko and Matt Harpring.
It's worth everything Will. It is everything. Tribal hatred FTW. Seriously, I'm with Batman on this. Hating the Jazz (and Sloan is the Godfather) is just part of the fun of being a Rockets fan.
Will its an attitude. Its a style. If you could just take the first part of it, it would be great. If this was Sloan's MO then most Rockets fans would get over the fact that he coached the Jazz and welcome him with open arms: Hustle Consistency Reliability Hard Work Defense But when you throw in the Dirty picks(including bear hugs that are sposed to be picks), the flopping, and the elbows in the back on rebounds, it taints it severely.
Our current Coach has also had Final success. What has Sloan accomplished in his coaching career that Adelman hasn't? Yeah Adelman seems to be patient to a fault, doesn't seem to coach with desire, but his results are equal to Sloan's. That's my reason I wouldn't want Sloan as a coach, if Sloan would be a Upgrade over our current coach then it wouldn't be such a big problem. Like if we had Michael Curry for example...then i'd be wanting anyone as a coach over him. But Adelman is as good as Sloan and both of them are great coaches in the NBA.
This Jazz hatred is unhealthy... we think of them as rivals, and they think of us as a joke. We don't threaten them at all. They WANT to play us come play offs. Sure its fun to have tribal hatred for the man and team he is connected to, but let's be realistic... they beat our ass every damn time. Sloan is a good coach and I think he could do a good job. However, we have Adelman who is top notch. Sadly he can't solve the Sloan problem. That doesn't mean I don't think Adelman can't achieve better results with the Rockets. I think his product speaks for itself and Sloans does as well. And I don't like flopping for the record, I just think it is being way over done at this point and doesn't matter in the end. We lost a play off series to them because Yao and Rafer were out came the end of the series. Not because they b**** and moan. And yes Luis Scola is a flopper... he flops just as bad as any soccer player
I think Jerry Sloan is a great coach. One of the best. Up there with JVG at making teams overachieve. And therein lies the problem. He hasn't won a ring for more reasons than Michael Jordan and Michael Jordan again. Problem with Jerry Sloan is that he is so disciplined and demanding, that only certain types of players can exist in his system. If Jerry Sloan came to Houston, only Battier, Scola, and Yao would survive. Artest? gone. Brooks - gone. Lowry and Landry might make it. But players like von wafer would really have to evolve quickly. I don't think he'd make it for example. The character of the team would change. In a way, the Jazz play like North Carolina does in college. Great basketball. But in the NBA, that type of ball just doesn't win the big in the playoffs. Now...why is that?
