I'm not opposed to voting for a woman. But, being honest with myself, I think I'd be less likely to vote for a married woman than one who was single/divorced/widowed.

As long as she's the most qualified person for the job, I would happily vote for a woman.

I'd rather vote for Satan himself than vote for Hillary.

I would vote for a woman for the job, if she was the best person for the job.

Serious question for those of you who would vote for Hillary. What legislation has she spearheded thus far in her term? What has she done for the state of New York?

She has spearheaded efforts for aid in rebuilding NY after 9/11. She has done a great deal to get help for the firefighters, resuce workers, and police who were affected by the tragedy.

I don't think she should have run from NY, and did so from personal ambition rather than from being a true NYorker, but once there she has done a decent job of representing the state.

If the female candidate was as qualified to lead the nation as all of the other candidates and had views that I agreed with, I'd have no problem voting for them as president. But, if it was just as a token measure to have a female run for president? Not likely.

I would only vote for a woman presidential candidate if she was pregnant, didn't own shoes and if they built a special oval kitchen office into the White House so she could be baking pies all the time.

I should have phrased my question by asking what she has done other than anything relating to 09/11. Personally, I suspect any New York senator would have done whatever was necessary to help those directly involved with 09/11. I am just curious if she has spearheaded any legislation which would benefit the country as a whole. For example, if she was campaigning to run again this year, what would she list as her accomplishments?

If you have an icon, no matter how less qualified, they can often influence more change by just existing.

Maybe Lady Diana is a good example. She was clearly not qualified to do what she did, but she changed a whole world by just exisiting. She did a lot of good. Things changed for the better because she brought a whole new persepective to that environment.

I do believe that a woman president could have that impact. I do believe that she becomes an icon for women everywhere. And I do believe that the country would more accurately reflect our views.

It really comes down to what you believe a leader is. And everybody's view of that is very different. Some people believe a figure head can accomplish more than a knowleadgle person. Some do not. You decide, but if I get the chance to vote for a women I will probably take it.

Why? Because that is the BEST person for the job. She will have far greater impact on our country than anyone.

What are the qualifications to get married, lol?

Yes, but if she screws a bunch of stuff up then she could also set back women everywhere.

I would without hesitation unless I disagreed with her views. Personally, I think we are getting close to a time when having a woman or a minority in the White House is going to happen and it's probably about time. The government has become far too dominated by rich guys and heads of companies. It would be nice to see someone in there who at least had an idea what it was like to live like the majority of the country.

I'm fine with a woman or a minority or even someone who is both. I just don't want to see it for the wrong reason--just to say we did it. There's no doubt that there are qualified women and qualified minorities, I'm just afraid of people getting all excited about electing a woman or a minority without really even caring if the person is the best for the job. Some people would vote for them just because of their sex or their ethnicity. Of course, I guess there would also be people who would vote against them for the same reason. Disturbing.
