That's a great story. I was the first of my group of buddies who bought a ticket. I won $2 on that first ticket. It reminded me of the old time commercials..."be the first kid on your block to have (insert product here)."
Lottery is just another word for stupidity tax. I say vote yes and the morons can take on a bit more of the load.
I buy a lottery ticket and a condom at the same time in hopes of getting lucky on either one of the two, you laugh but I've won over twelve dollars
You have shown me the light, I will now go and take my one-in-a-billion chance daily. Yes the lottery is for morons. You would be better off doing almost anything else with your money, including the racetrack.
Everybody I know buys a ticket once every so often. Thanks for calling them all morons, jackass. Ever been to a casino? The odds are against you there too...it's called fun...the thrill of playing. Now I know why so many have thrown barbs your way.
<-------This moron won 900+ on a 10 dollar bet at a Carribean Stud Table at the Bellagio a few months ago. Four of a kind if you're wondering...
I am pro-lottery. Lotteries have been around for ages. I buy a scratch off every now & then when Im bored. To me its just fun. Ive won around 500 bucks all together. I hate the argument that we shouldn't have a lottery to protect the poor. I find that to be very self-rightous.
Refman, Buying a ticket every once in a while for fun is not moronic. This is not where the majority of the lottery revenue comes from anyway. I have bought a scratcher maybe once a year on average. I am referring to those who play the lottery religiously, those who have an expectation of winning. Those are the people that the lottery exists for. Those are the people that would be considered one way or another when deciding to pass legislation, and those are the people I was calling morons. BTW, comparing the odds of winning the lottery to the odds of winning at a casino is ludacris. In blackjack, the odds of winning approach 1/2. Especially if you implement rudimentary counting schemes and bet thoughtfully. Casinos are also designed to be entertaining, the gambling consists mostly of games, and there are many activities. If you were blind and deaf and only played Keno, then it would be much like the lottery. In conclusion, no I do not think you, I, or any other occasional player is a moron, and they are not the people I was refferring to. I thought that was apparent when I sarcastically said I would play daily, but I guess it was not. Oh, and btw, you didn't seem to have much trouble throwing barbs at me before my second and admittedly somewhat argumentative post.
