Concur. I will spend every waking minute and every legal dollar I can contribute in support of whomever runs against her. Period.
We agree about all that. We'll find out soon enough if Gore feels likewise. My fingers are crossed even while I'm having a bit of a flashback to the ABC, Waiting for Cuomo days of 92.
It strikes me funny for one so involved with politics for so many years to view a presidential contest as a question of likeability, as you apparently do. Your two candidates - Richardson and Huckabee - could not possibly be farther apart on every single issue, yet you'd be happy with either of them. Meanwhile, you'd do everything in your power to oppose a candidate with a virutally identical platform to Richardson's. I don't like Hillary either, but I find this extremely curious.
I find Hillary vindictive, corrupt (from Whitewater to her campaign contributors) and totally self-involved. My cousin in Arkansas, a Democratic precinct leader, has nothing good to say about her. The fact is I just don't think she would be good for the country regardless of her politics. As to the distance between Huckabee and Richardson politically, you are right. That's why I like them -- political polar opposites but both candidates of good and decent character who will work for the good of the country as opposed to self-aggrandizement like Hillary.
I don't disagree with your ill feelings toward Hillary, though I can't share your zeal there. But the difference between what Hillary would do and what Huckabee would do is gigantic. And, with the exception of the war, Hillary and I both want the same things done. Even on the war, I'm way closer to Hillary than Huckabee or any other Republican. That's life and death stuff (as are health care, global warming and all other major issues). Compared to that stuff, whether or not the next president is self-aggrandizing or vindictive doesn't even rate.
Bush the Younger has torn the country in two. Hillary would draw and quarter it. I am in disagreement with some of Huckabee's domestic positions and some of Richardson's international positions. However, I know that the ship of state will steer a moderate course under either if for no other reason than gridlock. Candidates like Huckabee and Richardson will force the two parties to start talking to -- and compromising with -- each other again. We have gone 200 years like that. I fear another eight years like the ones we have just suffered through.
I'm voting for Hillary regardless because I'm tired of having a dumbass in the Whitehouse and she is the smartest candidate by far. I trust her to make the tough decisions without bias. I don't really like Gore. Do you guys remember how clueless he looked in the debate against GW. I blame Gore for the mess this country is in because he couldn't couldn't get the job done. The boy couldn't even win his home state and Arkansas. I would like to see a hillary/richardson ticket.
Romney is the smartest candidate by a long shot. Top of his class at Harvard Law and Harvard Business School. He has also been a freaking man amongst boys in the private equity field. He's incredibly driven and intelligent.
He is also the biggest flip flopper in the history of American politics. I guess that doesn't bother you anymore.
I don't care if she's smart or what her policies are. IMO she has zero integrity and acts like a tyrant. The only good thing from her candidacy is that voting rates may be higher than ever before.
Oh, I know. You're too scared to say who you like since all your candidates suck. Just wanted to point out your hypocrisy on Mitt. It's a bit of a hobby.
no never But I haven't liked any candidate in my lifetime except McGovern when I thought he would legalize pot. Vote for Ron Paul
Wow. You haven't liked a candidate since the one you liked 35 years ago lost in an historic landslide. Now you finally like one again and the unpopularity of his campaign will make McGovern's look like Reagan's. Bummer.
I'm endorsing Hillary for the democratic primary. It will be HIGHLY entertaining to watch her lose in the General.
Please.... you've got to be kidding. If she takes the Democratic nomination, it will NOT be entertaining. It will be dangerous for the country. Considering the national mood for 2008, she could win.
