I can stand Hillary...I loath Gore. Let's not even talk about this wooden fool...Obama doesn't impress me. I'd rather have Ford Jr. and wish you guys would put Ford Jr. in front of Obama...

That's it on the demo side.

For the repub side,...only Fred T. is who I like...

I think Obama is the guy who can unite the country after 8 years of bitter division. All other canidates are divisive.

I'm going to bet that you will see Edwards on the ticket as VP again. The Democratic party 'conventional wisdom' is that you need a believably Southern white guy to balance the ticket.

Edwards is still the closest fit. It was very necessary with Kerry (Massachusetts) last time around, but I think if either Obama or Hillary are nominated they will bow to demographic logic and get Edwards.

Perhaps Obama maybe looks for a Southern VP with some more experience (whoever that might be?) but I feel pretty confidant that Edwards would be the ideal Hillary VP.

Hillary/Obama would be a disaster ticket, and I think there is absolutely no chance that Gore intends to run in 2008 based on what I've seen.

If Edwards is in the VP slot, it won't be primarily because of the southern voter. The Dems are the first party in forever to hold majorities in Congress without a majority from the south. The South is increasingly becoming an Repub island with only Utah to keep it company. If you pick a VP based solely on geography, you go intermountain west where NM, CO, ID, MT, and even AZ are trending Dem.

Carefull NY.ca, your bias is showing.

Untill 2006 I seem to recall the republicans having control of congress for the previous 12 years. So who was soilinig America again?

only a libpig would say republicans are the ones doing the soiling. Dems aren't libpigs...libpigs are those like Al Gore and MC Mark Hammertime.

Would Gore be more influential, over the long term, as a President or as a lobbyist (with legislative and executive experience)?

I can't see Edwards being the VP candidate two times in a row. It's almost incestuous.

i love how you edited your post just so you could change it from "libs" to "libpigs".

for the record though, i am a registered republican.

again, what exactly makes me a libpig?

is it simply my opposition to bush and his policies (some of which, ironically, are some of the most liberal any president has had)?

    answer the question.

That woudn't be a bad ticket; they probably complement each other well, drawing away from their respective weaknesses (experience for Obama, charisma for Gore). I'd flip it the other way around if I wasn't skeptical about a repeat Presidental candidate (can only think of Jackson, Cleveland and Richard Nixon as successful prior losers).

gore would never settle for being a veep again, and obama would never take Gore on his ticket because of Gore's positions.

We'll never have to see that ticket. BUt if by some change Gore won the nomination and picked obama has his VP, I'd vote against that ticket.
