When Yao had the ball with his back to the basket, he was extremely successful. We managed to do those picks on a couple of plays to free up Yao so that he can post up. I have no idea why we decided to go away from it afterwards.
In the two loss this season, Yao was completely beaten by his rivals, especially last night, I even couldn't call the name of that Grizllies's center, but that guy dominated Yao on both sides. Can you imagine Kobe in this kine of embarassing situation? And I'm sure from time to time this will occur on Yao.
Look at the Championship bulls team, they won like 52 games without Jordan. Will this team of ours win 52 games without Tmac? No, we will not. But if we trade Yao for Kobe. Can we have a chance win 50+ games with Luis,Hayes,Kobe,Shane,Alston....James,Wells,Francis,Mutombo,Brooks,Snyder. I say possible. The closest we can get in comparison with the 72 wins bulls team is to trade for Kobe, here's the break down. Kobe-Jordan Tmac-Pippen Shane-Kukoc Scola-Longely Alston-Kerr James-Harper Hayes-Rodman Francis-Wellington Wells-Buechler Jordan avged 30, Pippen avged 19 Kobe can avg 29, Tmac can avg 28. I say we have a pretty chance.
It's not that I wouldn't trade Yao for Kobe but Kobe and Tmac isn't the right combo. Yao for KG makes more sense becaues Kobe and Tmac pretty much plays the same position and both need the ball. Yao and Kobe could work or KG and Tmac.
What??? Are you serious??? We are not the Bulls, and we don't need to be. Every single one of those analogies except Kobe-Jordan is unfounded.
