with this season going, the answer is definitely NO! I agree..this thread is not valid here anymore just because.... there is no doubt about the answer...
Oh my goodness. You throw out insults just because the other guys have different opinions. Are you posting from a free country now?
The guy posted just above you have been a member since 2000 with more than 7000 posts. And you insulted him because he wants a player on his team more than a player on another team?
I haven't read this thread and don't plan to. The title says enough. Can we lock this worthless piece of crap already?
TMac is unselfish because RIGHT NOW he is paired with a very unselfish franchise big man. Yao Ming doesn't steal TMac glory as a great wing player of USA, TMac can have all the adulation of bling2 balla generation, Yao doesn't give a ****, because he already has 1.3 billion follower back home.
This year, rox will beat utah and phoenix, let's wait and see. I think Rox will meet Celtics in the finals.
that definitely breaks team balance. does anyone think that trade will make rockets more successful than now?
Omg this thread should not be alive by now......probably surviving on the bickering between these TOF's and YOF's
Your conclusion is right, but the arguments may not..., this is exactly an eastern-western marriage. Kobe and TMAC can't coexist on the court more than one season.
I'd trade Yao for Kobe, no question, especially with this new offense. I don't know what some of you are thinking. Yao is well skilled and has a great touch but free throw shooting doesn't win you championships. He's too predictable and mechanical on offense and he's just not athletic enough on defense. In this league players use athleticism to make up for mistakes, both their own and those of their teammates, and Yao just can't do that. He can't attack and create like the greats of the game have always done and as a big man he can't defend the lane well enough. Boozer basically had a seven game dunking drill on Yao last year in the playoffs. Yao still hasn't knocked him on his ass for some reason, too nice ie soft. Can anyone picture Hakeem, or Shaq, or even Ewing getting dunked on right AND left handed for an entire series and not knock a guy on his ass? I don't think so. TMac and Kobe together would be incredible to watch. They'd both be triple double threats every night if they ran this offense how Adelman likes it run.
PLEASE, I wish to GOD that Yao gets traded to LA. I would PAY for the reality show that would be KOBE and McGrady. Each one would b!tch on who's team it is and how many shots each one should have. This team would implode and the LAKERS would be the one in the Finals. A frontcourt of Yao, Kwame and Odom would be the best Frontline in the league. Kwame would kill as a PF, he's just not center material but he would eat up PFs in the league and Odom has been playing out of position as a PF the last couple of years. As a SF, he would dominate. But unfortunately this trade would never be. I wish you were the GM of the team but you aren't. Only Lebron is ranked a higher from NBA GMs as the player they would build around a team on. And the whole Yao is "soft" argument is real old. The guy plays on a INFECTED TOE for months and plays year round and endures REAL pain while WANNABE Players like you think being dunk on shows he's soft. People like you are the same ones that have to have a Porsche, cuz you need to compensate for your lack of manhood. You're EXPOSED!!
I would love to see Yao in LA because I am currently living in LA. But that's my personal selfish preference. Seriously, make the trade, then you can watch Andrew Bynum making ridiculous rookie mistakes for the 5 mpg that Deke is not standing around doing nothing, while Kobe and McGrady snipe at each other in the media and freeze each other out on the court. Oh, as a side course you can watch Yao tear it up and average 30 ppg in LA under Phil Jackson's coaching. Yao is a PERFECT fit for the Triangle scheme.
