I live out in LA and WE WOULD LOVE to get Yao over here. But unfortunately, Rox would not do a 1-for-1 trade with the Lakers if this deal would be on the table. Rox would probably only trade Yao for Kobe, Bynum and probably next year's #1. That would be a little too steep for the Lakers. It would probably be more realistic for TMAC though. Kober for TMAC/Battier/& #1 would probably do it. Yao is probably one of 3 players in the league where the GM WON'T do a 1-for-1 trade. I personally think it would be GREAT for both teams. Phil would know how to MAXIMIZE YAO. If this Trade goes through, the Lakers would have a Frontcourt of YAO/Kwame/ODOM. Now that's a line up. Kwame would be a BEAST as a PF. He's just not a center material. The Lakers would probably be contending this year if this goes through. Do it MOREY!!!
And to add to it, we would finally get a guy in YAO that is HARD NOT TO LIKE. We've been dealing with Kobe's PRIMADONNA attitude for too long. It would be refreshing to have a standup guy like Yao representing the Staples Center.
If this was to happen it would be Yao+Battier(high value)+Head(value)+pick For Bryant(high stock)+Bynum Salaries match. McGrady is the ultimate team player and would mesh just fine with Kobe in this system. This basically would be a upgraded Jordan/Pippen. This move also gives Francis minutes by moving Head. I dont know, but there is alot of Yao fans here in Houston though. To be blunt, this really is not a crazy deal, it actually does make some sence. I think Bynum is just getting primed to be a solid double/double guy with more minutes and he would get that here in Houston. Im in no way giving up on Yao, but to me it seems as if he needs to dominate a playoff series and Kobe has proven he can do that. McGrady+Bryant i think Morey should consider it just for the hype. Im a fan and i wouldnt mind seeing this. Yao would do alot for L.A. and that city.
And talk about MUST-SEE TV, if Kobe and McGrady were on the team, I would love to see if McGrady stills says it's HIS Team. I would pay good money to see that reality series. McGrady will finally meet his match in Kobe as far as Primadonna status. I could see Kobe slapping McGrady upside his head if he would think this team would still be "his". And add Mike James into the mix, there would be like 70 shots spread amongst just 3 people. Talk about implosion but great TV nonetheless.
As a Yao fan, I love Yao to be a laker, that meaning more on national TV. As a rox fan, I don't know, Yao and Kobe both can make big contribution to Rockets.
DD, Why would you ask this question in a poll? Name me two teams that have won a championship without a dominant big man either on offense or defense or that rare BOTH?? If you know basketball, the big man is the key to a championship. Thats just the way it is. Never will change.
Jordan's Bulls. And the seattle sonics of the 90's were a championship caliber team without a dominant big man. They made it to the finals only to be beaten by Jordan's Bulls. Also, the pistons. I wouldn't call Ben Wallace a dominat big man. The offense didn't run through him. In today's NBA, a dominant big man isn't as important as you think it is.

Pissed away any opportunity for this thread NOT to be derailed? Not if you go to the job thread above and give us an update.
I guess you could exclude all those Bulls championships from your theory. Go ahead and post in your own thread...
Almu, Why would you ignore your thread in the Hangout? Name me two posters that have won our hearts with this kind of garbage other than LHutz or MacBeth even say like Heypee?? If you know this, the big issue at hand is your credibility status. Thats just the way it is. Never will change. (unless you respond)
