LOL - I thought it might be fun to see who would consider trading Yao. I would trade ANYONE if it made the team better, even Yao.... Doesn't mean I would make this deal.....but still fun to speculate. DD
I am all for trading Yao if we can get the right player/s. But that's nigh on impossible, and you don't get a 7'6 skilled Center, or ANY kind of skilled center much these days. Yao is so easy to cheer for, and so likeable, that from a fans perspective it would almost hurt to see him on another team. But Dada, I'm not selling my horse for an unproven pup.
YES, YES, TRIPLE YES!!! Trade his sorry @rse away ASAP. And the OP is such wuss, where is the options like "trade Yao for a bag of peanuts", "trade Yao for Erica", and "please take Yao and I will give you $20mil"? The OP should man up, and give us some decent proposals at least. Yao is such a stinky loser, not even deserved a tiny little respect to be consulted or informed before team's starting PG's being traded away. Since Yao is such a p***y, his teammates could do whatever they want in the games. Ignoring Yao is THE popular thing to do in the Rockets. Sometimes I really feel sorry for Morey and gangs. They are handicapped by Yao's presence. For good or bad they have to use Yao as a decoy to do their own thing, but Yao would pick up the tip if things went south. If things go right, it is morey's excellent work of course, but it is just not feeling that right with Yao there. Morey need man up, do whatever you can get rid of Yao, then you will be your own man and have the chance to let the NBA know only you are THE MAN. The rockets are like a country club. They have class and deserve better. They don't need a billion outsiders to litter in their cave, and also the good guys don't like to be treated like hillbillies. Trade Yao!!!!!!!!!!!! at the first chance you have!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh I'd consider trading him... for Lebron, Kobe or MAYBE Howard. Not for an unproven though. And Camby... Please... thanks but no thanks. Gotta make it up on Lake Travis soon. I'll be wearing my hat though... to keep my sanity.
To be honest, this isn't more comforting to me personally...another different type of injury near the foot...I'm not feeling it... I'm not sure about this particular trade, but...like others have said, the only reasons I'd consider it are: (1) Yao is injury prone (2) No extension yet from Yao Rockets have to do what's best or the Rockets, Yao's gotta do what's best for Yao. What about acquiring Griffin so we can dish him out elsewhere? Multi-team trade? Is there another team that could give up something we need for him? Are these dumb questions?
Why would you trade Yao for Blake Griffin? Griffin hasn't even played one game yet, in the NBA, and people are already proposing an idea like this? The Draft from two years ago called. Greg Oden wants to be included in this talk. Pros of trading Yao: We get younger We get faster We are able to trade away either Landry or Scola for a C Cons of trading Yao: We lose the entirety of the asian fan base/population We lose the best C in the league The Clippers immediately become a playoff contender (Seriously!) We lose SIZE (The only thing we needed against the Lakers, mind you) With all that being said, I would, under NO circumstances, want to trade Yao.
Not like this would ever happen but yes I would. I'm rather shocked at the results here: 80% saying no? Sounds like there's too many homers in here.
I would **** my pants if morey happened to make this deal. probably it would be a deal of Yao himself for No.1 pick and B-Diddy and fillers. No matter what role to be handed to Diddy, the starting PG/SG or sixth man, he would be a big upgrade on our backcourt anyways. I can't wait until Lebron and Griffin join us to make the championship ours.
no. Yao is a great player trading him will leave us without a center, one of the best our duo of point guards can improve and be a big menace in the league we are two pieces of getting a champ team Moerover, Yao's injuries have less effects on the team when he comes back, while Tmacs injuries affected him so he could never play as well as he did.
Yao for Griffin and Camby... whatever makes the contracts work out, DONE. Griffin may very well outscore and outrebound Yao as a rookie next season. The guy is a beast with a high energy motor and NBA toughness. He's definitely not going to have any trouble finishing around the basket or beating a fronting defender, that's for damn sure.
sorry, but i have been through enough arguments with yao's fans to know not to waste my time anymore delineating substantive points pertaining to the issue.
