Since we are in a rebuilding mode and are signing and building for the future.. as everybody in here says we are.. then YES!! But, if the Rockets know and are sure that Yao can come back 100% healthy.. Upcoming season.. NO!!
I want to think that this poll was started BEFORE Yao was almost out for the season, right? Because right now, i think we can all agree that a potential blake griffin, on a rookie contract, plus an expiring marcus camby will be a NO BRAINER for us.
For the record, it was 666 against and 180 for trading him...... And yes it was started before we knew......the severity of Yao's injury, but I think about 20% of us knew that a 7'6" man with foot problems was not going to end nicely...no matter how much we like Yao and admire him as a center and hard worker. DD
One of the most amazing polls in board history. Some of you alleged Rockets fans wouldn't have traded Yao for Jordan until Jordan won ROY and a couple MVP's.
Blake is a once in a lifetime tallent but I think he will have injury problems his whole career just like Yao. Obviously I would take the chance though.
Hindsight is 20/20. Would you have been so smug if someone brought the poll up after Blake's injury last year? Or how about if Blake suffers another one next year?
A more interesting question would be: Had the Rockets offered Yao for Griffin before the 09 draft would the Clippers make the trade?
Hardest working Center in the league? Last time I checked he's been on workers comp for quite some time. Forget Blake Griffin I would trade Yao for Andy Griffin at this point. Hell even Eddie Griffin could help this team as much as Yao can and he's in the ground!
