Manu obviously has a better team and i don't buy this "he would score 30 a night if he were on a different team" garbage. Ginobli is a great player and was underrated for a long time but he isn't on that level. I'm not using the bench player excuse either because he plays big minutes and often against starters.

What separates him from being a real go to guy is that he is not really as talented, he just plays hard all the time. Which i have notice some clutchfans and especially DD are partial to. A guy like tmac can do what ginobli does on the spurs with relative ease. If he had that kind of size and shooting around him and constant 1on1 coverage we wouldn't be discussing this.

But perhaps the biggest thing that makes tmac better (especially for us) is that he is a better playmaker. If we swapped the two out in this series i could see Manu dropping atleast 30 points in both games and a great deal of them in the 4th. I think the Jazz would absolutely wipe the floor with us though because without tmac our Hayes/Mutombo/Bjax/Battier uncreative role players would be complete non-factors. Ginobli's decent at his drive and kicks but he isn't even close at getting guys good looks near the basket.

Hey you are right. And when DD finally admits he's a closet Spurs fan and comes out on their bbs, he'll be able to say, "I was the TMac at ClutchFans.net."

Not at all, he seems like a good guy and a rabid fan. I just have a hard time, at times, understanding his argument. He seems to always argue 'backwards' (i.e. conclusion first and then bias the argument accordingly). I am actually interested in a fully-developed, logical argument that convinces me Manu is a better player, and I will be more than happy to take the bait.

I am not invested in McGrady or anyone else (even Yao), and any move that would legitimately improve the Rockets (which this Manu-for-McGrady trade in a vacuum doesn't) I will strongly support.

that's what i was thinking. The money wouldn't match up but if tracy was getting the pennies that Ginobli is, the spurs would have Manu on the first flight to houston. R.C. Buford would drive him to the Toyota Center himself. A guy drops a 23-13-8-3-2 stat line with double and triple teams. What do you think he's gonna do with the best PF of all-time and a PG who can destroy 2 guys off the dribble himself. Tmac might average 10 assists a game.

I am a great guy !!!...GREAT I tell ya !!!

I am seriously wondering what people think about Tmac now, and where he is at in his career.

Personally, I am on the edge of simply just saying "enough".......If Morey decides to give it one more year, fine....

But, I am also fine if he explores what he can get for him.

And I hate...hate HATE the way Tmac dominates the ball, it makes the Rockets soooooooo easy to defend......team's will let Tmac have some success early then when it matters most, they swarm him and we have no other option because Tmac has been dominating the ball.

It was no coincidence that the team played the best last night with Brooks playing PG and Tmac playing off the ball......we had 2 attacking players on the court......did you see how many layups Brooks got because they were focused on Tmac?

That is the way to use him, but I believe that Tmac forces himself on the ball and it is not a recipe for success....he is not a clutch player...anymore.

I do however agree that if we had better players around him that he would be more efficient.....and I would like to see Yao and Tmac healthy for a whole year....with a better PG.

    or 30 ppg

the problem is those guys play really well during the season. luther was playing great, scola was and aaron, landry, etc.

but when it comes to playoffs, real tough time nobody can give any help. that's the problem. we can do that in rs but not in the playoffs

Oh wah wah wah...I can take it fine....clearly I have no problem putting out an unpopular opinion, just look at the poll results.

But you are making it personal in here, can't you see that? If you don't like the topic say so, put up your opinion and be done with it.

I have no problem with you HP, you just seem to take things too personal.....and have trouble recognizing a joke......especially in chat.

Just enjoy the topic or ignore it.....whatever.

let tmac have that defensive pressure on him sheesh

tony parker and duncan took up all of d'antoni's defensive attention and he admitted it so.

    OK...allow me to contribute.
You're wrong in this thread. Boy I enjoyed saying that.

What? You think I'm not enjoying myself here.

poor DaDakota, can't recognize a joke, and assumes it's personal.

Yes, clearly that is a difference......Tmac gets a ton of focus because of our lack of creative players around him.

that is exaclty what the problem is and has been since we got tmac. They overachieve. They play as hard as they can play, particularly on defense EVERY game. They just look bad in the playoffs because other teams step up and match their hustle and intensity.

Basically for the past 4 years, our team plays at a 10 level intensity (with the exception of our stars) while other teams are around 7. The playoffs start and our guys look worse because even though tmac and yao go to another level the whole other teams has gone to another level.

The spurs play hard every game too but they have the talent to do the same things on offense when opposing defenses step up. Our team tries to do the same things they did during the streak, they can't because the defense has scouted them and is focused.

If you had put tmac alongside Duncan they would have won atleast the same amount of championships.
