If you think McGrady struggles getting to the basket when he's surrounded by offensive mighty-mites like Hayes, Battier, Head and Alston....wait till you see the Manu disaster.

Tmac has a style of his own and he can do what he wants with YAO on the team, but with Duncan and POP, he will probably crack under their pressure to pass the ball.

Yeah go ahead and do it and when Yao goes down, watch the rox go to the lotto. The rox have the worse talent in the playoffs right now in the west. The coach isn't making adjustments. High pick and role with scrubs like hayes and non finishers like scola is a joke Everyone keep talking about stealing scola from the spurs, he probably wasn't going to get pt with them. I haven't seen anyone steal anything from them. They know he's malik rose.

Oh come on, Scola is doing ok, he could be better, but he is hardly the problem.....what we need are people that can hit open jump shots.....on a consistent basis.

Bull! I've been watching LP a lot more this season, and the kind of praise and respect -- nay, fear -- that McGrady garners from his opponents is damn near Kobe-like. I can't tell you how many times opposing coaches/players/team analysts have near orgasms talking about the guy.

If anything, the guy is bashed here like no other superstar on any other team in the league (at least if you don't consider Marbury a superstar). Even McGrady fans have been known to criticize some aspects of his game in the past.

As for 'other message boards', ALL fans (i.e. homers) tend to overvalue their own players and underplay the talent on other teams. I mean, we have posters here who think Kobe and Lebron are overrated...

I would take anyone that can score 20+ ppg over Tmac just to get rid of his ridiculous salary...

DD- the only deal that might work that I would consider is TMac + our #1 for Marion and Miami's #1

That would give us a shot at that point guard from Memphis- he might be the next D Williams

All of it based upon history, because more than ever, this year he is very guardible.

If you get physical with Tmac, over the course of the game eventually he backs off.

Manu wouldn't be able to do what T-Mac has done with this team. You replace Manu with T-Mac, we don't win 22 straight games and we miss the playoffs. T-Mac is the better team player. I don't think anyone can do more with less talent than T-Mac does. A lot of people overlook how T-Mac has lead this team into the playoffs without their best player, two years in a row.

Especially in the 2nd half 7 points......1 in the 4th quarter, he basically backed down.

Not, really, no. He's still an all-star talent and puts up decent numbers to boot.

Either way, I would do the trade only because Manu is severely underpaid, but don't kid yourself and think that he's a player on McGrady's level as far as carrying a depleted roster -- multiple times -- over a long stretch of a regular season to respectable records and playoff births. McGrady has no #2's when Yao goes down, Manu does, along with a more experienced, veteran team with better talent than what we got.

Manu can't carry a Rockets team by himself during the season, McGrady can. However, when salaries enter the equation, you would be hard pressed not to do that trade. So money is the key factor here, not talent/abilities...

    Emanuel Ginobili

    $9,075,000

    $9,900,000

    $10,725,000

    Tracy McGrady

    $19,014,187

    $21,126,874

    $23,239,561

Tmac makes more than twice as much as Manu makes. If it is Tmac for two Manus, why the heck not?

I'm sorry but Manu is garbage. He is a role player he could never be "the man"

Right, especially when fatigue sets in, he becomes very 'guardable'.

You have as 'rose-colored' glasses as anyone here...

Fair enough, but let me ask you another side question.

In the clutch who would you want with the ball and down 1 point, Manu or Tmac?

    TMac..... period.

He is not only able to create for himself, but for others as well. As JVG stated, Manu's numbers, while good this season, would represent a down year for TMac.

They are not in the same category

I want to point out that at the very start of the 2nd half, the first 2 possessions Tmac settled for long jumpers....there is NO way fatigue had set in by that point.

I know he did his best, my point is that I think his best is deteriorating fast....and it may be time to trade him elsewhere.
