Of all the people you ask who is better, Tracy or Manu? You saw the hate on that board didn't you? Heck as whos better Tracy or Luther and they'd probably say luther
I did not ask that question, I asked which player they would rather have...... Outside of Houston and the homerism responses in this thread, TMac is not nearly as highly thought of. DD
I kinda agree with you. A local writer out here said to me that there are two types of players winners and the rest. He said Tmac is a great player, but he doesn't know how to win. For some players winning just comes naturally, I mean look at Duncan, he's really never had that stretch of years where there's little to no light at the end of the tunnel. Tmac can put butts to the seats, but can he win? I'm not so sure. Case in point, let's say David Stern and LeBron James both decided to screw Cleveland and LeBron magically signs with Houston for nothing. You really think Tmac could make it work. Egos aside, I think LeBron would take control of this team, Tmac would have an off year, and the LeBron and Yao connection would be a thing of beauty. Why? Because LeBron is a winner. I think Tmac will forever be an amazing player on an ok team. I don't think he has it. I hope I'm wrong tho.
basically if your thread is so bad, it wouldn't have 11,000 posts. those who voted as a bad thread are contradicting themselves cause they can't get enough of it.
The thread vote thing sometimes comes down to whether you like the topic or not, and not necessarily the discussion contained within.....I put that down to people not understanding the ratings system. Sometimes it also comes down to people who just dislike the poster, I have a few haters, that will never give me a good rating. Sam, Tiger, V3.0....to name a few. DD
They are both successful players. Tmac's salary, score champion titles, 7 times all-star,... All these, Manu could only dream of . Manu's rings, olympic goldern medal, ... All these, Tmac could only dream of.
What do you mean outside of houston? You asked the place where he is the #1 public enemy. Manu would agree that this is an insult to TMAC as well. I would expect more out of a "99er" as you guys like to say
Look, if you want to simply ignore what other NBA fans think of him, fine, I think any board would have a similar vote, except for this one, and the Spurs. Tmac is a good player, but his reputation is NOT one of a winner, but rather one of a guy who makes excuses...and consistently comes up short. Is that fair, sure it is, because until now that has been what he has done......IMHO, that all changes with a healthy team next year....I can't wait. DD
How is Manu a max 32 mpg guy? Popovitch started him in a bunch of games this post season and he's carried the team in any number of critical situations. Like I said, it was a hypothetical. Manu isn't going anywhere. From the standpoint of a completely imaginary trade I think Ford works because he's clearly a notch below Parker. I'd still do that trade. Ford represents enough of an upgrade to Alston and Manu is Manu. There's a reason Charles Barkley loves the guy.
I don't know about need them.....but I respect their opinions when they are not personally bashing me. DD
If you think McGrady is a leader you're crazy. Blinebury over at the Chronicle has pointed out over and over again that it's just not in McGrady's character to be the leader. If you surround McGrady with a bunch of talented underachievers who need to be pushed or a bunch of young players and expect him to lead the result's going to be disaster. McGrady and Yao need veterans for teammates, guys like Battier and Scola who don't need anyone to motivate them.
Tmac + Manu*sqrt(2) - Rafer + SF3*Yao + OJ Mayo > MJ See, you need the sqrt(2) scaling factor otherwise the math is all wrong.
