offensive rebounding and defense is what works best around westbrook, and it's what they've put around him

I think it's not a matter of player A on the Rockets vs player B on the Thunder, the Rockets' roster is just a perfect fit for the team's playing style. I honestly think both teams would be worse if they swapped rosters.

No way! If Westbrook had our guys they would sweep us out of the playoffs first round!!!!! Give our TEAM more credit for getting us this far. It's not all Harden.

Sign me up. Harden already showed he could win even more games with a good defensive unit without shooting

How about we trade they're bigs for our bigs.
That would work for me, Kanter + Adams + Sabonis + Taj Gibson
    Gotta love that inside presence.

What? They know exactly how to work best to get Westbrook triple doubles. :p

Adams and Oladipo are probably the second and third best players but they make a ton of money compared to Capela and Gordon. Kanter vs Anderson is interesting comparison, but Anderson obviously fits this system much better.

Has Harden ever been surrounded with perimeter shooters as bad as OKC's supporting cast?

The Rockets' supporting cast was constructed to capitalize on Harden's strengths, but because of their shooting and defense, they could flourish around any ball-dominating wing.

I think Westbrook and the Rockets' supporting cast would sweep Harden and OKC's supporting cast, and the games wouldn't be close. OKC simply doesn't have enough shooters. McDermott and Abrines are statistically good shooters, but they haven't played well enough to earn consistent minutes. So it's pretty much just Oladipo. They'd be easy to guard. Let Westbrook guard Roberson (Beverley on Oladipo and Ariza on Harden), have him play free safety on defense, and try to force Harden's team to swing the ball to Roberson.

Yes I would make the trade. Within an off season all the holes in the current Tunder team would be gone with DM pulling the the strings. The Bevs and Arizas are easer to get than bigs that can play. Small trades for 3 & D types and we are set. We can get shooting & defense but well rounded bigs seem harder to find this having higher value.

In that case, your answer is "no" b/c that would no longer be Westbrook's supporting cast.

    Yep.

    Adams over Capela
    Kanter over Nene
    Gibson over Harrell
Oladipo & Roberson over Ariza & Dekker

What about Gordon? Beverley? Lou Williams? Ryan Anderson?

We are not a championship team this year and neither is the Tunder --> the Thunder has better pieces that are harder to get. The OP asked if we would trade teams so going forward the answer is yes. The Tunder with DM's tweets & Harden = championships.

    This trade will never happen.

    WB wont let it happen.

Beverley will be a danger to his knee every practice.

Beverley will take away at least 5 of his rebounds every game..

    In a heartbeat.

I would then immediately deal Kanter for Anderson and one of the young PG's for someone like Beverley. We would compete with the Warriors if we had that roster.

In what way do the Thunder have better pieces that are harder to get? OKC doesn't have anyone with unique abilities while we have a legitimate stretch 4 in Ryan Anderson. If anything, OKC has overpaid for the pieces they do have. Have you seen their payroll for next year?

I'd much rather have Gordon at $13mm than Oladipo at $21mm. Capela at $2.3mm or Adams at $22.4mm? Abrines at $5.7mm or Beverley at $5.5mm?
